Rapping on the door occurred, breaking me out of the concentration I had towards my twitter feed.
"Dude, you've been in there for ten years. Are you pooping?" Amanda's voice sounded muffled through the bathroom door. Rolling my eyes, I pressed down on the door handle, inviting her to go in.
"Actually, I was just chilling," I responded, turning my attention back to my phone. Twitter knew me enough to put a lot of puppy pictures on my feed. Amanda entered the bathroom, which was a little tight for the both of us to be in. She stood right in front of me and hummed. "What?" I asked nonchalantly, looking up to meet her eyes.
"You forgetting something?" She asked, raising an eyebrow, her mouth curving up smugly. I shrugged in response. Her jaw dropped a little, then she proceeded to bite her bottom lip. "Alright, I guess so."
I tilted my head towards her, wondering what she even meant with that. Then, it was answered. In a swift movement, she dropped down on the toilet seat and settled in for what I can only assume was to use it. I shrieked violently, removing my eyes from the unwanted eye-full she had exposed to me.
"Dude, what the hell are you doing?!" I basically yelled at the corner of the bathroom, my eyes sealed shut. A giggle emitted from her.
"You weren't leaving, and I really had to. And it's not like you haven't seen me before," she spoke. I could just feel her flicking her hair back as if it was the most obvious reason why she felt the need to just... Do that. "Remember? We took showers together?"
"Mandy, that's different, and that was literally almost ten years ago!" I quipped back, exasperated.
"Still doesn't change the fact that we've been together naked," Amanda said matter-of-factly. When I heard the flush, I opened my eyes and stared down at the marble counter of the sink. I cringed.
"Well that's not going to happen again, so don't even," I said, only turning around when I heard the running water from the faucet that she had flicked up. I crossed my arms and scrunched my eyebrows at her. The smug smile she had on her face made itself more prominent.
"Are you sure about that?" Amanda said, tilting her head enough to meet my eyes through her peripheral vision. "How else would you explain last night?"
Everything around me dropped and a darkened feeling washed over me. How else would I explain what? What even happened? She could not be serious at all. I would know, I would have known. Is that why I was changed out of my clothes? Is that why I was really close to her when I woke up? No, it could not have been.
At the same time, I would not have doubted it. But, did we really...
"Jesus, Winter, you make it so easy!" My thoughts broke free from its torturous aura when I heard Amanda start laughing, followed by her throwing a hand towel on my face. "That was fun. Now come on, let's get some breakfast. I know how much you love those," she said, scrunching her nose. My mind may be free, but my body died at that horrible joke. I stood still as she bounced out of the bathroom.
"Y-yeah, okay," I mumbled to myself. Shaking my head, I tried to erase whatever scene had entered in my head with Amanda as my other half... In bed. Rubbing my eyes, I contemplated whether to just leave through the window or actually get some breakfast. I would be lying if I said I was not hungry.
The truth is, I could eat the whole Stella's with the food capacity I have within me that had yet to be filled, adding on to the void that was created by the possibility of a regrettable night.
