The first thing I noticed was how unmade I was on the bed.

My hair was pushed back behind my ear but the rest of it was... Everywhere. I slowly pushed myself up, only to fall back down at the drowsiness that came with the exhaustion I felt. I rolled over onto my back while my hands instinctively pressed on my forehead. My feet dangled over the edge, which made me feel even more out of place. The only thing I was happy about was that I was stationed in my own room rather than a random's.

Cautiously, I sat up, hand still on my forehead and the other holding my weight. I groaned, completely cursing at whatever it was that took over me the previous night. A night I could not really remember.

I sighed and pushed forward to sit on the edge of my bed. I fixated my eyes on my door, slightly frustrated. Why does Ma never close my door?

Then, the most smile-inducing sound echoed into my room. I stood up, way too quickly for the morning after drinking, and felt completely nauseous. But I was determined to check the sound. It sounded like Autumn.

I pushed myself through and into the hallway and heard her laughter again. She's here. Oh god, what's she doing here? My heart started beating fast. Even though I felt the need to rush down the stairs, my pounding head disagreed with me. I stepped down slowly while holding onto the railing and the wall at each drop of my feet.

"Seriously? Wow, that's unbelievable," her voice echoed. Kitchen.

I leaned myself onto the wall and peered into the doorway and saw my mom attending to a pot on the stove. Her head leaned back as she laughed. "Right? You could ask her, although she'll probably not tell you about it."

That was my cue to interrupt. "Ask who about what?" I asked as I revealed myself through the doorway. Autumn was sitting at the dining table with a plate of scalloped potatoes in front of her. Her face lit up at the sight of me and I inwardly thought of how disgusting I looked. I brushed my hands through my hair and flipped them to one side.

"Good morning, princess," she greeted and I hummed back in reply. My mom turned off the stove and turned towards me as I headed straight for the fridge.

"I'm sorry honey, there's no juice right now. But, I made you some soup," she said before I could open the fridge. She whirled the ladle in the pot one more time before pouring some in the bowl beside the stove. I leaned on the fridge with a hand on my forehead. "Would you like some?"

"Sure, yeah," I grumbled. I still felt nauseous. I pulled the drawer where we kept the Advil, picked up the tiny bottle and placed it on the counter beside my mom's glass of water. Clearing my throat, I drank some of my mom's water and downed two Advils. I fixated my eyes to the person at the dining table who seemed so keen on watching me. Her mouth curved up. "What were you guys talking about?"

The green-eyed beauty chuckled and placed her fork down, "Your mom was just telling me a story about you." My mom chimed a hum in agreement. "Didn't think you could be mischievous, princess," she stated and sent a wink in my direction.

I gasped and turned to my mom who just placed a bowl of soup on the counter with the spoon dipped in it. "Ma, you didn't," I half-hissed under my breath.

"What? It was really funny," she giggled. She brought her own bowl of soup and went to settle on the dining table at the spot in front of Autumn. I pursed my lips and narrowed my eyes at Autumn who was quietly laughing. Placing the bottle of Advil back in the drawer, I brought my soup and settled down on the seat beside Autumn. Her knee bumped into mine purposely and she snickered.
