So this is just a continuation of the last chapter because I didn't want the last chapter to be too long. Hope yall like it!
Gajeel's POV
After hearing that I was paired with Shrimp, a small smile appeared on my face. Hmm...me and Shrimp, this is going to be interesting. I make my way over to where Levy(Shrimp) was sitting. Of course, she had stacks of books on survival and islands setting all around her, and she was currently reading a book about Tenrou Island. "Hey Shrimp."
She looks startled, but then realizes that it was just me, "Hey Gajeel... you know I have a name right?"
"Yeah, but Shrimp suits you better. Whatcha reading about?"
"I'm just getting some research about survival on Islands and finding out more about Tenrou Island." Shrimp said going back to her book.
"Tch...you know if you always have your nose in a book you'll miss out on a lot of things." I said while picking up the book about how to make fire. The title makes me think about Salamander and Bunny girl.
"Yeah, well all this researching is going to help us win the competition and the bet," Shrimp said mumbling the last part.
"Hmm what was that last part about a bet?"
"Umm...well you see I kinda made a bet with Lucy. Saying that me and you would win the competition, instead of her and Natsu." Shrimp says with a nervous smile on her face.
"How much did you bet Shrimp?"
"Umm...like 20,000 jewels."
I looked at her and smiled. "Well if we are going to win this thing then we need to start preparing more than just our minds."
She looks up with an excited expression and I just laughed. I picked her up and threw her over my shoulder, ignoring her weak protest and made my walk out of the guild with my partner.
Lucy's POV
Oh my Mavis...I am with Natsu. Mira really does find ways to make her ships sail, I'm going to have to find a way to get her back for this. I wonder how Natsu is feeling about all this. Knowing him, he is probably thinking about fighting or food. I look over my shoulder and see Natsu walking towards me.
"Hey Luce! Are you excited about the competition?" Natsu asked with a fired up expression.
"I am really excited, but something seems off to me."
"What are you talking about. It is just another competition that we can win."
"Yeah, we definitely need to win that prize money," I say thinking about the bet I made with Levy.
"Do you have your rent due or something?"
"Um...well I kinda made a bet with Levy saying that you and I would beat her and Gajeel," I said with a nervous laugh.
"Well then we definitely have to win. I don't want metal head to have something to hold over me," Natsu said giving me his signature goofy grin.
"Yeah let's kick some butt! I'm all fired up!" I laugh and look at Natsu who was staring at me with a smirk on his face.
"That's what I say Luce," Natsu smirked at me, making me a little heated.
"You're not the only one who can rock that saying."
We both look at each other before we shout in unison, "We're all fired up!!!"
Some of the guild members cheered and Natsu and I just laughed. We decided to start training and preparing for the competition. Two days were all that we had and we were gonna make them count.
