Rosey's POV -

My legs don't even feel a burn as everyone pummels down the street and towards the train tracks. Everyone is hooting and hollering and I can't help but join them. I'm running in the front with the Dauntless born and they're all shocked to see that I'm keeping up. My training hasn't failed me yet! Initiation also hasn't even started yet, I remind myself.

No one even bothers to slow down as we reach giant metal support pillars to the tracks. They launch themselves at it and heave themselves up. I follow suit. Unfortunately I never tried getting up like this and my scarred hand digs into the rust and I feel the need to stop and take a breath to re think my approach to this. I ignore it and keep moving up. I reach the top and by the time I get there the only pain I feel is from my abdomen and my hand. Two things I didn't want to affect me.

Lost in thought I never realized that the Dauntless born I had been running with already hopped into the train. I needed to start running if I wanted to make it. I push my thoughts away and get into a sprint, I grab the side of a car and throw myself in. The car is about halfway through the train so it's not too bad. I look around and see a bunch of people in here. It's mostly Dauntless born but a few transfers as well. There's a Candor girl with blonde hair and a perfect face. She has pink plump lips and a clear perfectly round face accompanied with eyes bluer than the sky and two boys are sitting with her. One is also from Candor while the other is from Erudite. Candor boy isn't as pretty but he's definitely not ugly. He has brown tossed hair, green eyes and a nice set of freckles while Mr. Erudite has blonde scrappy hair, a mole under the corner of his mouth, and a pair of brown eyes.

The two Candor keep staring at my arm, I've only been in here for 5 seconds and thats all they can look at. I turn my face expecting the worst and only see bruising on my upper arm. It's not even that bad. I can totally fly by on this one. I stressed for nothing. "I fell down the stairs running out of the hub. I guess my arm took more of the fall then I thought" I start laughing after that and so do they.

The two Candor look at me with suspicion but they don't push the subject. Trust a Candor to spot when you're lying. I can't help but think when Candor girl speaks up, "Hi, I'm Elena and this is Terrence" she says while holding out her hand. I go to grab it and say my name but think twice. I don't want to be Rosey Blake in Dauntless. I could make up a name and they wouldn't know. "Ro" I finally say as I shake her hand. "Well R0, that was quite a gracious entrance you made. I'm a little jealous to be honest, I almost face planted unlike him, he actually did" she can't help but laugh and so does Terrence at her own words and the Erudite boy starts going pink and rushes to defend himself. "Hey! I've never done this before okay! It's not like there's some equation to this, even if there was I don't think that would help me" He also starts to laugh, I guess Erudite really wasn't for him. "I'm Sam by the way. Figured I'd introduce myself considering these two already have" He gives a little wave and we all laugh, "Hi sam" we say in unison, we all look at each other and start laughing again. How did we do that?

We all end up laughing more as Sam tells the story of how he ended up knowing Erudite wasn't for him, "I set the lab on fire by accident! Okay, accident! How was I supposed to know that the red liquid doesn't go with the other red liquid! It seemed like common sense to mix them! I thought they were the same thing! And before I New it my eyebrows were gone and I burned my finger because of how hot the vial was." We keep laughing but mine fades first, I blame it on the people starting to jump off and not the similarity of burning a hand/hand part on something hot.

We all look out to see a mix of colors jumping off the train and onto a roof top. Oh great, I never realized they did this. I need to stop thinking I New what to expect. Past the train I have no idea what's waiting for me. All I know is that I need to place first. I'm going to prove my worth beyond any reasonable doubt and I'm going to prove everyone wrong! I'm worth everything this world and this faction has to offer! With those thoughts in mind I turn to hopefully my new friends, I give a nod and launch myself off the train. I fly through the air until I land onto the rocky rooftop and keep running forward. I quickly glance back to see that the three amigos made it safely onto the roof. I'm glad they're fine, I wouldn't mind having some friends. I don't need them but it would still be nice if I didn't close myself off to everyone. Not everyone is Byron.

They walk up to me and before I can get a word out a booming voice echoes through the air. Everyone stops as the voice goes on, "Everyone, listen up!" I finally see who's talking. It's some big hunk of chunk standing on some sort of ledge. He has tattoos running up his thick neck and what looks like two piercings above his eyebrow. From here he looks pretty hot. I hope that doesn't change as I get closer, wait what? I can't have these thoughts. Guys are bad and from the looks of him he probably gets with girls daily. If he did notice me it probably wouldn't even mean anything.

"My name is Eric, I am a Dauntless leader and in order to begin training you have to jump!" His voice entices me and makes me want to step closer. What the hell?

It's too late as this Eric guy already has his eyes on me. "Agh, Amity, you feeling like going first?" He asks with a smirk. He thinks I'm going to chicken out! Well no! He's a leader and I want to rank first, I'll show him exactly what I'm made of!

I push my way past the other people and make my way to the ledge. I look over and see Eric staring at my arm. I ignore his look and step onto the ledge. It's a huge drop into some sort of pit. They wouldn't kill us, this is some sort of test. It has to be. I look back over at Eric and before I start to jump he mutters, "Today initiate" before I can even think my mouth shoots open and growls, "Bite me"

Well that was unexpected and apparently he didn't see that one coming either. I jump off only to see his brow raise at me. He looks taken back and I can't help but smile. That shows him! Im going to ignore how attractive that eyebrow raise was.

I close my eyes and let the feeling of falling surround me. I thought the train felt like freedom but this drop takes it over the top. My stomach sinks and my heart is going crazy. The wind is whipping at me and before I know it I land on something almost hard but then I'm back in the air again to only repeat the process. I start laughing as I realize I'm on a net. I knew they wouldn't just let me die, I silently mutter to myself as I feel the net being pulled down. I roll over and another muscly man reaches for me. He's not nearly as attractive as that Eric guy up there but he stops reaching for me as he sees my arm. I immediately start panicking as I try to think of the lie I thought of earlier.

"Fell" was all I managed to say. He looks back at me and nods like he knows I'm lying but doesn't want me to continue. "Got a name?" Is the only thing he says and I start to smile. This is my chance. I took the great plunge and I'm in the Dauntless compound. He starts to pull me down and I happily respond, "Ro, my name is Ro" he has no emotion as he turns back around to the crowd I never noticed until now, "First Jumper, Ro!" He shouts out and everyone erupts into cheers. He pushes me towards them and all I can hear is,

"Welcome to Dauntless"
