7). The Tour

Ro's POV -

Elena, Sam, and Terrence all come down shortly after me and we watch as all the others, transfers and Dauntless born, fall into the net. Some scream while others laugh and some just look like they're gonna pass out. We can't help but laugh at those ones and the Dauntless born join our laughter to. I look over to see them walking towards us and I can't help but grin.

"Hey, I'm Uriah and this is Marlene and Lynn. I can't believe you had the guts to talk back to Eric like that! I think we're gonna get along just fine" Once those words leave his mouth I almost forget to reply. My mind slightly drifts back to that eye brow raise and I have to scold myself. He's just some jerk don't start thinking like that, you know what comes after.

Marlene and Lynn interject themselves when Uriah stoped talking and I almost didn't hear them as my mind drifted back to Byron, he used you, lied to you, and left you, and he seemed NICE imagine the damage he'll cause.

Everyone introduces themselves and Lynn keeps talking, I notice her ear piercings and automatically start thinking about tattoos and that offer Tori gave me. "Do you guys want to go get tattoos after this is done? I've been killing to get one but I have no idea where it is. I also don't wanna go alone."

I look to everyone in my group as I say the last part and they all light up like Christmas trees. I'm glad they didn't notice my slip up earlier and Marlene takes over, "Yes! That's the best idea ever! I already have one but I sure as hell wouldn't mind another! Let's all meet up for dinner and get some after!"

I look around and see Elena looking a little weary but Terrence and Sam look like they just hit the jackpot. Uriah has a grin covering his entire face and I know that can't mean anything good, and I've only known him for maybe a minute.

"What about you Elena? You up for a little tatty?" I wiggle my eyebrows at the end and it seems to do the trick. She starts wiggling her eyebrows herself and decides she'll start slow and get a piercing first. Smart girl. I hope I can stay smart through this initiation. No distractions! I need to rank first! I will prove to myself that I am worth it and that I can do anything I damn well want! I'll show my dad and I'll show Byron that there done dictating my life.

With that last thought Eric flops down into the net and I have to rethink that last thought. Am I letting Byron control my life? I'm already shutting myself down from someone who I just thought was cute. I should learn from my past but not letting anyone in again is basically letting him control me. Maybe I'll just see what happens and let whatever happen, happen. If he proves to be not worth my time then he's not, if he proves to be just some jerk like I'm thinking he might be then good bye!

The guy who helped all of us off the net doesn't even bother helping Eric off. And from the looks of it he doesn't need it. He rolls to the side and I can see more of the tattoos on his forearms. There of a maze I think? I'm not too sure but I can't help but thinking of tracing the lines. I almost tell myself to stop thinking like that when he hits the ground. I look back up to his eyes and find they were already looking at mine. He has a smug look on his face like he knows where I was just looking and I feel like I should go hide in a corner. No, your Dauntless. Act like it.

Instead of hiding away I keep looking at his icy blue eyes, determined to not be the one who breaks eye contact first. Slowly I can feel a small little grin growing on my face as my attention gets pulled away from him and towards the helper dude who starts talking again.

"My name is Four" my eyes slowly find him standing a little closer than Eric is to the main group of initiates. I feel my cheeks starts to cool down and I pray to the heavens that Eric didn't see me blushing. "I mainly work in intelligence but for the next few weeks I will be acting as your transfer instructor along side Eric. Dauntless born you have Lauren and Logan as your instructors and seeing you don't need a tour of the place your free to go. Lauren will fill you in on your details."
