" Ms. Santiago was found dead on her hospital room yesterday. The cause of her death is still unknown as of now". The police officer named John said.

" Is anyone with her that time? Was it a murder or natural cause?" Carmela said hurriedly.

" No one was with her at the moment, well aside from the police officers outside her door. They said that they didn't hear any noise and the nurse who checked her didn't find any unusual thing before then. And as I've said awhile ago, the cause of her death is still unknown but there are speculation that she was killed though that was only suspicion." The other officer named Teo said.

" That's quite disturbing", Amelia commented with a grim expression.

" There was also a murder happened last night near your neighborhood that's why we are giving warnings around. You should be more extra careful". John said strictly.

" You didn't know who did it?" Louis said grumpily.

" As of now, we are still looking for any fingerprints or any valuable evidence that could pin point the culprit", John said.

"Sir! Wait!" She called out to them.

The police officers stopped by their police car to acknowledge me.

" It's about Ms. Santiago's case, uhm I was the one who saw her that day. Could I at least have a copy of her file?"

" And what makes you think that we will let you?" John gives me a hard look. Scrutinizing my real intention about the matter.

"I was curious ,that's all. And that incident happened nearby our place so it gives me chills to know that there could be a murderer lurking to what I thought the safest place I could ever find so maybe those files could make me feel at ease even just a little" I explained, feeling stupid all of the sudden. Why of all the excuses I could muster I had to voice out some lame excuse?

John nodded but didn't say anything while Teo observed me as if I was a puzzle he couldn't solve and huffed in annoyance.

"What was her diagnosis?" I rushed when I noticed that the officers were about to drove off. Not really minding the annoyed glares I was getting. I wanted to know. No. I needed to know, I have an ounce of who was behind it  or at least that was I believed and if I was wrong, then at least I was still aware of my surroundings.

John huffed clearly annoyed, "Miss, we are not in the position to reveal a 'confidential' case if you want it might as well go to our office and ask for it yourself" annoyance is dripping on his every word as my shame intensified when I heard him emphasize the word 'confidential'. I was aware of the laws and rules about that matter but I want to check my luck.

I lowered my head in shame and my hands played on the hem of my sweat shirt to stop myself from overthinking things.

The officers hurriedly left the place as if they have a ticking bomb on their sleeves but before they disappear from my line of sight, I notice a flicker of emotion in their eyes but when they saw me looking at them, they're quick to mask it. The expression is unknown to me because they hid it before I could have the time to read it.

I was about to go inside when I saw Sonia looking at me with disapproval, "Someday, your stubbornness for not listening will lead you for more troubles".

"Do you know something, is that it?" I asked bravely.

She only shakes her head and walks away glancing around briefly.

That little gesture didn't go unnoticed to me. Maybe she knew something? Was she involved? A witness perhaps? And what kind of case was I'm trying to solve? Is there any anyway? As I have only my assumption to be based on as for all I know, it could only be a product of my wild imagination. Perks of a critical reader and movie watcher. I have Sonny to blamed for it.

Sonia being the head mistress assist the other workers on what not and what do's and there I was , watching it or maybe observing. I got a habit of watching and observing others behavior and that according to Sonia may lead to me being in trouble.

"And what are you still doing here?"

"I want to talk to you" I said carefully. Fully aware of disapproval in the elderly 's eyes.

" Aren't you already talking to me right now?" Ah! This woman knows how to use sarcasm.

"You seem unsettled when I saw you?" I proceeded to my question since I wasn't her favorite person at the moment.

" And what makes you think that?" She scoffed throwing the rag she was holding in the process.

" You kept on glancing around?" I ask slowly as if it would make her answer my question.

She observed me in disbelief and laughed. "You've watched a quite good movie I guess". She stopped laughing hysterically as if it was the funniest joke in the history and looked at me sternly. "My job is to make sure that all the workers in this household is to do what they are expected to do, not to answer any hilarious question. Now, we are very busy so if you may, please leave us".

I bit my lower lip in shame when all the workers did watch their interaction. And all of them are giving away different expression. Some is holding their laughers, some is giving me a curious stares and luckily for me, there are some who didn't give any attitude to them.

I quickly turned around but immediately halted when I heard her say, " If only you could do what you are expected to do then there couldn't be any problem".
