" Thank you again for the food, Mrs. Sandoval. We had a great time". Louis said politely.Mrs. Sandoval waved her hands. " Hush dear, we had a great time, too. You should visit us more often and it's Mama Vicky for you, darlings".
" Alright, Mama Vicky", Sonny said warmly. He looks genuinely happy which is very unlikely by the way, judging by his rude remarks to Amelia and undoubtedly hate to his own mother.
" You seem very comfortable being with them", I noted.
" You think so? Well, they are nice"
" Carmela and Amelia is nice, too", I pointed out.
Sonny's face twisted in disgust and annoyance clearly not liking what I said.
"Oh please! They weren't like Mama Vicky".
" How makes you think so? We've just met here today"
" I just know", he said dismissively.
Megan walked besides me stiffly. Her shoulders are tense, her steps are calculated and she has a big frown on her face but her eyes held sadness. After what she had said awhile ago and put us in an awkward atmosphere, she remained silent ,even Mama Vicky had talked to her, she only managed to nod or shake her head.
Zac walked ahead of us sporting a grim expression. I had known him for many years now and this attitude of him right now, is very unheard of. Well, he had been giving us that expression a few times now so, I was sure that he has a problem.
Louis had been breathing heavily since we left the Sandoval household. He has a serious expression, which is very likely of him.
"Where have you been?" Amelia asked sternly, giving us all a pointed look.
" A neighbor come in the house, yesterday. His mother invited us to have a dinner with them". Louis explained. He was always the rational and critical thinker from all of us.
"And you said yes?!" Amelia's voice boomed in the living room.
" What do you want us to do? Refuse the lady who are nice enough to invite us for dinner?" Zac reasoned. He can be matured if he wanted to.
"Why? Does we make you starve?" Carmela's face redden from anger.
" No. But the lady asked nicely, it was rude to turn them down since they are not doing anything". Louis said calmly. He remained collected even in this kind of situation.
" You don't know that, you've just known them from today!"
"Even so, they're nice", Megan interrupted. Finding her lost voice for the first time.
" You've known them for what? 2 hours? 3 maybe? And you easily let your guard down? For all you knew, they could be the murderer!" Carmela shouted.
"And you said we judge them too soon, how about you 'mother'? You just accused them of being the murderer!" Sonny counters.
" They were just here for a week now", I interjected.
" You've heard that? They had been here for a week and guess what? The murder happened just a week ago!"
" Okay, okay. It could and couldn't be them. We don't know anything yet, so please don't decide their fate for now", Louis said pleadingly.
" You should not see them ever again. No snicking for now on", Amelia said.
" We didn't snick out. We just know that you will not let us go", Megan said a matter of fact.
"We've been doing what you want for so many years now and isolated ourselves here, because that was you wanted. Please, let us breathe for a while, it's been suffocating here", Zac said in one breath.
" We are just doing this for your own good".
" Well, 'mother' news flash, we are not your puppets. We have our own will and feelings which you rubbed to us before. Don't you think it's time for you to let us go?" Sonny retorted.
"Well-" Carmela's words were cut sharply by Megan's enraged voice, "Enough, we had enough of this all. They are nothing like you". She spit out before thorming out.
