I had finally finished. Stepping into white silk stilettos with the red bottom and pearls gracing the toe and up the side I checked myself in the mirror. I was wearing a white short sleeved silk dress. The back of the dress was completely sheer and little pearls and sequins trailed along the invisible line of the dress wear the silk transformed to the sheer fabric. My hair was in deep curls over my shoulder and off my back. The dress clung to my body like a second skin and cut off just about mid thigh. I adorned my wrists and fingers in gold and silver. Draping a plain silver cross necklace around my neck I finished the look.

My makeup was done flawlessly. I had applied a slight shimmer to my cheekbones accenting them and clear lip gloss. My eyeliner went out in a soft angled wing and I'd out mascara on making my eyes look narrowed and exotic. The guys were still in my room waiting but they were already dressed. Justin was in plain white jeans and a white long sleeve shirt that he had rolled up at the elbows and red Supras. He had out on a platinum Rolex and a cross chain kind of like my own. Ry was wearing white jeans and a white button down that he had rolled up passed his elbows, with a red undershirt and white Vans. Both of my friends were hot beyond words but telling them that would be a sin.

I was adjusting the length of my dress when I felt two hands take hold of my waist. Startled I spun and was face to face with Justin. His deep caramel eyes flicked down to my lips and back to my eyes. My heart raced in my chest. Please don't kiss me. "Someone's here for you", he said pulling away. "Come down when you're ready", and he disappeared downstairs.

What was that? It looked like he was going to kiss me which would have been a big no-no. Well, he didn't so I shrugged my shoulders, pulled the dress down, although it was sure to ride up again, and jogged downstairs.

When I reached the landing I saw two more men standing in my living room. One had golden blonde hair that was styled similarly to Ry's. He had about the same build as Ry too but when he turned around I saw those bright emerald green eyes that I know so well. "Maliki!", I ran and sprung myself into his arms.

"Hey, Steph", his calm voice resonated in my ear. It sounded so foreign because even a greeting as small as that was so rare from Ky.

"Don't forget about me", I heard a familiar voice say.

I looked toward the voice, still clinging into Ky. The guy had gorgeous blue eyes but he was wearing this warm smile. Tank. But oh goodness! His sideburns were gone and he looked just as good as everyone else here. He had slimmed down a lot and chiseled out. His old sandy brown hair had darkened and was cut short in no particular style, just a really low cut I could see was starting to grow out.

"Tank!", I pushed away from Ky and tackled Tank.

He chuckled catching me with ease. "Haven't heard that nickname in a while", he teased.

"Sorry, Adam", I giggled. Tank was always the biggest kid no matter where he went so we had given him the name Tank. Plus he could take out any linebacker on the field. But now he looked like an Adam but he'd always be Tank.

I jumped out of his arms and surveyed my friends. Everyone was wearing white so I assumed they were all going to the party. It had been so long since we had all been together but something was off. Justin was in Chris' normal place. I sighed inwardly. I had to get over him.

Ry broke my train of thought. "Don't look like that. Last time you looked at us like that you made us cry", he teased but I could see his embarrassment as he ran a big hand through his thick hair.

"I thought we were never bringing that up again", Ky chastised.

We all laughed. I had missed my friends and to be truthful, nothing had been the same without them.

...

I woke up tangled in someone else's arms, legs and possibly under and on top of them. Ky was the furthest away by his left leg was under me - I'm sure it's dead - Ry was cuddling with my right arm his right leg tossed haphazardly across my torso. Tank, well Adam, and I were laying back to back which was strange because he was laying on his stomach and I had been sleeping flat on my back. How the hell had we managed to sleep like this? Justin must have went home last night because he was nowhere in sight.

I rolled away from the jumbled mass of bodies and went to the bathroom to handle some business. I emerged an hour later fresh and ready to take in the day. Last night's party was ridiculous and unlike the guys I hadn't made the mistake of drinking a ton of expensive liquor so I was actually able to enjoy myself. It was like, for an entire night I was able to forget him.

I sighed longingly before going into my room to change. I found an oversized dark grey knit sweater that draped down my arms passing my fingertips by an extra hand's length and hung off my body loosely. The hem supposed about a quarter of the way down my thigh while the wide collar hung low on my chest. I threw the garment over my shoulder so my full chest wasn't hanging out. I stepped into a pair of dark faded low rise skinny jeans and tired my hair in a high ponytail. My waves bounced down my back while little tendrils hung freely framing my face and neck. I applied minimum makeup putting on tons of mini rings. A smiling nymph coiled up my ear diamond water dripping down the side of my neck.

I decided to surf the web reading miscellaneous comments in pictures and videos. I was about to shut my laptop when my eyes stumbled across something about Chris.

Are you excited about Chris coming back to LA?!

It was posted under an old photo of Chris and I at graduation. There we stood in our white gowns donning or achievement ropes arms wrapped securely around the other smiling up at each other. Just two naive kids holding onto a hope neither had bothered to dream of. That was a time where I was happy but that happiness was short lived and the universe made quick work of our relationship.

You two are so cute together

I wish you never broke up

They're gonna get bck 2gthr when he gets bck to LA

Cutest photo ever!!! ❤❤❤

I stopped reading at the first hate comment. Chris had taught me to never pay hate any mind. That was one thing I'd never forget if anything. He always broadcasted happiness and was always optimistic. With him gone, everything just got harder and tedious. Skateboarding wasn't as fun. Movies weren't the same. Life was just different.

"You're thinking too much about it", I deep voice brought me back from my dark thoughts.

It was Ky. He stood looking refreshed in a clean blue long sleeve and jeans. His blonde hair was unruly and wasn't styled so it fell into his face.

"If you miss him that much, don't torture yourself. Just call him", he instructed his gentle green eyes prompting me to make a decision. I either give up on Chris and move on or I take a chance and tell him how I was feeling.

Shaking my head timidly I shut my laptop and pushed it aside. This just wasn't that easy. Maybe Chris did want to talk to me, but maybe he didn't. What if he wanted nothing to do with me anymore? What would I do then? I'd cry. I'd bawl my eyes out until I could make no more tears. Even the thought of that brought water to my eyes. "I can't", I whispered and hung my head but Ky wasn't listening.

Instead he had his phone pressed to his ear looking extremely impatient. Who was he calling? "Hello? Yeah", he thrusted his hand out to me. "Answer the phone", he ordered.

Cautiously I took the phone from his hands and pressed it to my ear. "Hello?", I asked uncertainly.

"Stephanie?".
