His last mercy

"I KNOW I COULD GET TO YOU." Monstermare chuckled, his partner saying nothing.

'I'm just scared...' Nightmare said to himself. 

"WHATEVER."

Tears just kept flowing. He was so broken. 

He just wanted his brother. 

"WELL, WELL, WELL..." Monstermare stopped.

'...?' Nightmare looked up. There was a person.

"So...You really wanted this, huh?" the skel asked.

'...!' Nightmare couldn't believe it.

"Mweh heh heh! I, the Magnicifent Sans, have seen your boringness from afar, but I never thought you'd want to play!" 

"OH JOY, BLUE. I KNEW THIS WOULD HAPPEN." Monstermare readied himself for this war.

"Ah, I can see you'd like to play now! Hmm...How about...?" Blueberry rubbed his chin. 

"HOW ABOUT...HIDE AND SEEK?" Nightmare knew what was going on. 

'Blue...Blue no! Stop!' he was already very stressed. 

HAHA...DELICIOUS, PARTNER." He laughed. 

"OK! I'll count while you hide! 1...2...3..."

Nightmare's negativity shot up the roof. 

"AW, WHAT'S WRONG NIGHTY? TOO MUCH TO TAKE? HAHA! I KNEW YOU WERE TOO WEAK!"

"Oh my goodness...Cross...are you alright?" Dream was fussing over the punky skel. 

"Yes. I am. Are you sure Nightmare deserved that?" Cross asked him.

"Well, yeah. He did. He as being a jerk." Dream huffed.

"I just think that...Nightmare's in pain. Like emotional wrecking." Cross looked at the goopy mess left behind. "Did you...really mean it? When you said you hated him?" 

"Yes. I meant every word of it. He should know better than to choke my husband like that." Dream removed his veil - a flower crown veil Nightmare made for him.

He threw it on the floor.

"SEE? I TOLD YOU. HE HATES EVERYTHING ABOUT YOU." Monstermare chuckled. He had hidden himself in a bush near the wedding area.

Nightmare suddenly felt as if he was thrown into a pit.

His once purple eyelights turned into a fire blue. 

'Monstermare...won't you take me away from my misery?' Nightmare pleaded. 'No one's ever cared for me but my brother. I never deserved to live but he told me I did.'

'But now I know he's given up on me, too.'

Tendrils shot up and wrapped around the monster soul so tight it was crushing it.

"AS YOU WISH, PARTNER."
