Holding On

Nightmare's blue eyes slowly engulfed back into purple. What was he thinking? Hurting Dream like that. Oh yeah, He couldn't think straight. After all, Monstermare's ability was darkness. 

He knew this wouldn't go anywhere if he continued this path. He had two choices: Rally up his gang, or end the path-

End the path. 

That's it. 

He could end the path. 

"OMG... Is... M-Marey?" Nightmare turned around. 

Wait... Isn't she dead?

"Wait... Lynx...?" He wanted this to be a dream. He couldn't take this AND be haunted by her. 

"Marey...? Are you ok?" She looked at him with the oddest face. "I'm sorry!" he cried, holding his hands up. "I'm sorry! Please don't haunt me!" "Haunt you? It's not like I'm dead Marey!" she huffed. He sounded dumb now. 

"Wait... you're not dead?" Nightmare could faint right then and there. "Duh! Look you may have flung me off the cliff, but I survived man! Like, gee! I was 11, but I landed on grass! Thank King Cheng!" she said, looking at the skel. 

"Lynx... No, Cat." he called her nickname, and she responded with a "Hmm?" 

"Cat, end me." He choked. 

"WHAT?" she just stared at him. 

"END ME." His eyelights were gone.  

"Why... I just found you again and-" "END ME! CAT, END ME!" he was begging now. 

"Marey! Stop! What are you thinking??" she was scared. Really, she was horrified by her best friend just saying that. 

"END ME!" He slapped her. He knew what would come next. 

Feeling threatened, Lynx transformed into her Wild Beast form, which is just her Genocide form but crazier. Her short hair became long and messed up. She had pink lynx ears and a long pink lynx tail. Her grey eyes were replaced with a glowing pink left eye and she had claws and sharp teeth. She wore a pink dress hoodie with yellow rims and brown boots replaced her oversized Crocs. 

"REOW!" She growled and clawed Nightmare's face. He laughed and cried: "Come at me!" 

One blow, two blows. She struck him and he didn't even flinch. 

The punky skel groom and his bride had embarked on a quest to find the broken prince. By coincidence, they were there when the crazy cat girl was slashing him like sushi.

"BROTHER!" Dream's impulsiveness was rewarded by the girl glancing his way.

"Reeeeoooow..." her meow was eerie and low. She slowly advanced towards the little yellow prince. 

"NO!" Nightmare dragged his bleeding body to get to him.

"I made a deal with Monstermare years back, he could destroy any AU he wanted fight you each time you came for it, only so I could see you... I will NOT let my own best friend take you out!" he gritted his teeth, throwing his weight onto the bride and the crazy cat girl sunk her teeth into her best friend's back. 

"GH!!" He groaned. Blood started to free-flow from his bones. "CAT! S-STOP! CAT!" 

"H-huh?" she blinked. "Marrrrrr....rey...?" she purred. The purple prince turned around to face her. "Hey... hey there... Lynx... are you there...? It's me... your best friend! Marey?" 

"Shifters go crazy when they feel  threatened, but you can pacify them by calming them down."

"Is that so?"

"Yeah."

"M-Marey!" Lynx weeped. She felt extremely guilty for what she did. Nightmare just stared at his frightened twin. "Are you ok?" 

Dream felt the weight of his misjudgement coming down on him.

"Brother... I'm so sorry..." now there were two bawling sweethearts he had to deal with. 

"I forgive you..." he could forgive 1000 times. After all, Dream's words were nothing compared to his own actions.
