Phoenix's pov

The kiss me and Aiden had was mind blowing and I craved to feel his plump lips on mine once again

The thing is we haven't talked since then, hes been avoiding me like plague and feels as if I'm being rejected

He stays in his office late at night and sneaks in when he thinks I'm sleeping

I was still mad at him for treating me like a todler but I miss him and not seeing him hurt more than it should have

I sat in bed with sushi in my arms, he finally decided to burn the sheets,which I was happy for

"Your so lucky sushi"

She tilted head looking up at me with her big brown eyes

"You dont have to love any stupid boy,your single and free"

She yipped

"Plus you don't have to experience heart break"

As if she understood me she whimpered

I smiled sadly at her

"At this rate, rejection would be alittle bit better no? At least I'd die quickly"

She yarned and closed her eyes

I smiled and started to pet her head

The door suddenly opened and in walked Aiden,always with the deep scary frown set on his stupidly beautiful face

I left sushi and stood in front of him

"Where have you been, I was waiting for you"

He didn't even glance in my direction

"Work" he muttered

My eyebrows pinched together

"Whats wrong all of a sudden? Your ignoring me"

"Go to bed Phoenix" he said through clenched teeth

"Fuck no! Answer me"

Why does it hurt so much...

"I know you felt it too Aiden,the sparks and you liked it too, I felt it, so why ignore me?"

I know I haven't talked to him in the first few days but Ive been here but the bond just kept growing the more I was around him

I hate that I feel this way

"Why not reject me then?" I asked tears welling in my eyes

He just stood there frozen and silent

"At least it would be better"

I placed my hand on his shoulder and stood on my tippy toes to try to reach his hight and leaned in to kiss him, I wanted to feel that spark again

But all I got was a head turn and a light shove to the side

Rejection

That was all it took for me to burst into tears and my wolf to howl in pain

He just turned and left me there

Aiden's pov

I don't want this

I don't want him

I told myself over and over again

I was getting close to him and I don't want to get attached to the little brat

But seeing him cry broke my heart into a million tiny pieces

I had to push him away, or he'd make me weak, a big softy, the other packs might even use him to get to me and i can't allow that

'bullshit' jasper snarled

I sighed and ignored him

Or maybe the rogues would do him like they did my parents and half of the pack

I wasn't looking where I was going and bumped into someone

"Watch were your going di-" i look up seeing Kade

"My apologies Alpha"

I waved him off

"Its fine"

He frowned

"Are you ok?"

"Yeah" Imumbled

He nodded

"Hey Kade, how did you feel when you found out Kyle was your mate?" 

His blank face turned into a wide grin

"I was a bit scared at first but I learned to love the little fucker"

"I see"

"Why do you ask?" He raised a brow

Kade is both my Beta and best friend

I motioned for him to follow me to my office

I sat down and poured myself some whisky

"Phoenix is my mate"

He chuckled

"I know"

"And we kissed after having an argument and I've been ignoring him ever since" I said before chugging the whisky

His eyebrows raised so high I thought it would meet with his hair line

"Are you fucking crazy? He isnt Samantha you dope" he growled out

"I know"

I took the bottle and took a large swig, the liquid burned going down my throat

"But he is annoying and I don't want to get too attached"

"Bullshit"

I snorted

"Thats what jasper said"

He stood up

"You need to apologize bro, your basically rejecting the little guy, poor thing"

"Remember what happened to my parents and the people what if it happens again?"

He rolled his eyes

"Stop living in the past, night"

With that he left

I growled and threw the glass bottle into the wall and watch it shatter to bits

"Fuck!"

I sighed before plopping down in the chair

(Time skip) 

I finally decided to head back after some amount of arguing with my wolf

I slowly opened the door and quietly stepped inside shutting the door

Phoenix was on the bed sound asleep probably cried himself to sleep, the pillow was tear soaked

'you hurt him' jasper growled

I rolled my eyes

I took a quick shower before putting on a pair of sweat pants

Then climbed into the bed

I slowly lifted him off the wet pillow and threw it off the bed,setting him on my chest

Then clapped, the lights turning off immediately

I closed my eyes and let out a frustrated sigh

This mate thing is bullshit and I hate the moon goddess for this particular pairing
