There was another knock on the door making me look at Jax with confusion. Did he order something else? He gave me the same look and placed his pizza down, me following his actions. I got up and began to make my way over to the door, Jax following behind me. As we got closer there was another, more inpatient knock.

"Who could it be?" I whispered.

"Jesus woman, move and I'll find out." He said with a chuckle making his way past me and opening the door only part way.

"Hello, how may I help you?" I heard him say from the other side of the door.

"Does Bailey live here?" The sound of a women's voice said.

"Who wants to know?"

"Her mother."

My eyes widened remembering the sound of her voice like it was yesterday. The image that I remembered her as when I was little. A very beautiful women, way out of my fathers league, blonde hair, blue eyes, a very slim figure. One thing was the most noticeable out of the rest was the slight scar that was just above her eye, at the base of her eyebrow.

Jax looked back at me silently asking if he should let her in. I thought for a while and motioned him 1 minute. I ran back into the living room and sent all of the kids up to their rooms, if this turns into something bad, I don't want any of them to see it.

I quickly gathered all of their pictures, and got rid of any sign that we had kids. If she turns out just like my father, I don't want her knowing about my children. Once everything of theirs was out of eye sight I walked back to the door and nodded at Jax.

He opened the door letting me see who was behind it. A tall slender women, with graying hair was standing there. I looked up at her, scanning her face for the scar, and sure enough it was there. Her bright blue eyes had faded into a dark grey color. Her eyes were looking at me in astonishment.

"B-Bailey?" She asked with a pained look.

"Mom." I said tightly.

She began to well up with tears, some leaking from the corners of her eyes. A bright smile had made its way onto her face. She stepped in and grabbed my hands staring me in the eyes. She looked me up and down noticing the scars that were scattered along my body.

"I've missed you so much. May I hug you?" She asked with a tone of fear in her voice.

"Sure..."

She quickly pulled me into her chest, my short form being engulfed into hers. Her long skinny arms wrapped around me pulling me even tighter into her.

"It's been so long sweetheart."

"Yes it has, quite a few years actually."

Jax was standing behind me and began to crowd us into the living room to sit down. I sat next to Jax and she sat on one of the single chairs. Her lengthy legs crossed, displaying just how good she looked for her age.

"I've missed you." She said looking down at her fumbling hands.

"I mean, you could have done something about that a long time ago. How did you even find me by the way?"

"I've been asking ever since I left, I was trying to find you, to bring me with you. It's a miracle you made it out of that house alive."

"You could have stopped it though. You could have saved me from that monster. You knew just how bad he was, but you didn't care did you? It was you and only you from the start, I didn't matter to you. And you've shown me that time and time again."

"But you have to believe me, I tried. I found you, doesn't that count for something?"

"You left me in that house so he wouldn't come looking for you. You knew that if he had someone else to beat the living shit out of, you would be in the clear. So you left me, you left a young kid, crushed her dreams, killed her soul, and made her hate herself to the point of suicide. You could have taken me with, we both know it, so stop trying to make excuses for yourself." I said.

"I am so sorry that I left you there. I had no intention on doing so. The time was right, and I didn't know what to do. So I did what I thought was best. I am so sorry that I was such a terrible mother to you, I really am. And I hope that someday, we can forget about our past and become close again."

"That will never happen. Not with you."

"You can forever hate me if you want, but I really would like to make up for the lost time that we've had. Please just give me a second chance." She said with watery eyes.

"You see all of these," I said motioning to my scars, "They are from him. He did this to me. I know you didn't inflict any of this pain on me, but it just brings back all of those terrible memories. Memories that I wish to never surface again. You could have taken me with you, or dropped me off at some place were I would have actually been taken care of. You could have done many things, but you didn't. And for that I will forever hate you."

Jax pulled me into his chest and kissed the side of my head. She looked back down at her hands and just sat there awkwardly.

"I think you should leave." Jax began standing up.

She quickly nodded her head and walked to the door. Jax followed behind her. I just sat there taking it all in.

"Bailey, I truly am sorry. I wish I could go back and change the things that I did. I'm sorry."

Jax opened the door and closed it behind her, making sure to lock it before coming back over to me. He pulled me into his arms and held me tight whispering sweet nothings into my ear, as the tears slowly began to slide out and onto his shirt.
