Kayla.
I opened the door, and looked at her.
"Babygirl? Is that you?" She said, barely audible.
"Mhm."
Next thing I knew there were tears streaming down her face. She pulled me into a hug and stroked my hair.
I remembered she would always do this. Whenever I was sad or mad, she would always pull me into a hug and stroke my hair.
I almost missed that feeling.
She closed the door and walked to the couch; still hugging me.
Hence the fact I never hugged her back.
She let go of me and looked at me.
"You haven't changed babygirl." She said.
"I thought I grew." I said, eyeing her.
"Where's your brother?" She asked.
"He-"
"I'm here." Kayden said, while he was on the foot of the steps.
Tears were streaming from her eyes when she saw him. She motioned for him to come to her.
Kayden quickly followed her hand motion and came over to me.
"Kayden?! That's my lil' baby?" She cried out.
"Who are you?" He asked.
She looked at him and cried hysterically, with her head in her lap as Kayden looked at her like she was crazy.
"I said, who are you?" Kayden said, raising his voice a little.
She looked up and whispered. "I'm your momma."
Kayden looked at me. I returned the same look back.
"Is it true?" He asked me.
I looked at him and said, "Yeah, that's our momma."
She looked at both of us and pulled us into a hug. It seems like she was hugging for hours, because my legs started hurting.
We all sat down, with the exception of Kayden sitting on my lap.
I honestly stared at her, not once opening my mouth after I'd spoke to Kayden.
He talked his ass off though. Asking questions about why she left us, and why she suddenly appeared.
She took her time and answered all of them. But Kayden was too tired, so he fell asleep on me. I picked him up and him to his room. I went downstairs to see Momma gathering her stuff, ready to leave.
She kissed my cheek and gave me a tight hug.
"I'm blessed I found y'all. But if you're not open to me right now, I understand."
She laughed a little, then left. I closed the door then went to the couch to lay down. I turned the tv on and put it on the weather channel.
I checked if the weather was good for tomorrow, so Kayden and I could go to the mall.
I fell asleep thinking on the past few hours.
