I'm in love with you

(The next day)

(Meredith's POV)

I wake up in an on call room, so I change into my scrubs. I head straight to the lab in hopes of finding Andrew in there. He's sitting at one of the chairs sleeping. I tap on his shoulder, "Andrew? Hey, do you have any report on the Bartonella tests?"

Andrew nods, "I uh, yeah. The papers are right here." He hands me the results to the tests and I read through them.

I smile, "It tested positive for Bartonella henselae."

Andrew yawns, "Yeah, it's pretty interesting.. I'm happy it's not cancer."

I nod, "Yeah, me too. Can you maybe find some information on this particular Bartonella bacteria so we can figure out a solution for Mrs. Manchester's condition?"

Andrew pulls out a text book, "Already on it."

I smile, "Good. I'm going to go find Amelia and see how she's doing."

Andrew nods, "Good plan.. She was pretty rough last night."

I sigh, "Yeah.. She's so full of feelings and emotions."

Andrew chuckles, "And that is okay."

I nod, "Yeah, I guess.. Anyways, I'm going to go check in on her." Andrew nods and I leave the lab and to the Attending's Lounge. To my luck she is in there holding a coffee mug, "Hey."

She looks up, "Hey! What's up?"

I sit down next to her, "Oh nothing, I just came to ask how you're doing? You know, since after last night."

She sighs, "Pretty good.. I uh-yeah."

I frown, "What? You hesitated."

She sighs again, "It's just that since last night I can't stop thinking about how nice it would've been to actually be pregnant."

I nod, "Yeah.. But I thought you didn't want to be pregnant."

She nods, "I don't.. I just, I can't stop thinking about if I did try and have a healthy baby with Owen... That might be nice."

I put my hand on hers, "I think you should go for it if you feel it would be nice. And I don't think you have to worry about having another baby with anencephaly."

She sighs, "Yeah, I think I need to think about it a bit more before I talk to Owen though."

I nod, "Yeah, I agree. How are you and Owen actually?"

She grins, "Great! We're great! Him and Teddy are just friends, and we're just overall doing really great!"

I smile, "Good. I'm happy to hear that."

She nods, "Yeah, I'm happy too.. But I'd better get to the pit, there's a trauma coming in."

I nod, "Yeah, I have some papers to fill anyways to but I'll see you later."

She smiles, "See you." I rush out of the room and to Mrs. Manchester's room to discuss the results.

Andrew is already in there explaining the information about the bacteria, "The bacteria can lead to many different cases, so we're going to try our very best to match one to what's going on with you."

Mrs. Manchester smiles, "So I'm not going to die?"

Andrew nods, "You're going to be just fine once we get some antibiotics for you."

I smile, "Thank you Dr. DeLuca for filling Mrs. Manchester in. Mrs. Manchest"-

"Oh just call me Barbara." Mrs. Manchester interrupts.

I chuckle, "Barbara, if you have any questions or just want to clarify anything just let me or Dr. DeLuca know."

Mrs. Manchester nods, "Alright, thank you." Me and Andrew leave Mrs. Manchester's room

He turns to me, "Do you want to go to the lab and talk about Barbara's charts?"

I nod, "Yeah.. Let's do that."

(Andrew's POV)

Me and Meredith enter the lab and I sigh, "I umm, I got some more information on the bacteria.. Bartonella henselae can lead to a condition known as cat scratch disease. She's definitely showing the symptoms. The disease is usually transmitted from cats to their owners, but it's actually not that common. Barbara does have two cats, so that explains why."

Meredith nods, "Yeah.. I think that's probably right. I think we can probably just prescribe her some antibiotics and send her on her way."

I smile, "Yeah. It's great!" Meredith nods and I step closer, "I think that you look very pretty today." She blushes and I smile, "I want to kiss you again and never stop."

Meredith smiles, "The feeling is mutual."

I step closer, "Good." I kiss her and feel like I never want this moment to end.

After a minute she looks back at me, "We have a job to do." I nod and she smiles, "Or we could just keep doing this.." I grin and kiss her another time. Her lips are the only lips I ever want to kiss. She's perfect. Every aspect of her is perfect. Her beauty is inside and out.. I'm in love with her.

I look at her, "You're.. Amazing."

She smiles, "You are too."

I tuck a hair behind her ear, "You're the most beautiful woman I have ever laid eyes upon."

She blushes, "Thank you." I kiss her one last time before we continue to work in the lab. I feel so connected to her.. I think I'm really falling in love with her.

(Later that day)

(Meredith's POV)

I finish my shift and quickly stop by Mrs. Manchester's room. I smile, "Hey! We think we found the Bartonella bacteria that you may have. It's called Bartonella henselae and it can lead to a condition called cat scratch disease.. It is normally transmitted from a cat to its owner. And I have a prescription for the antibiotics. It's very uncommon, but treatable. Do you have any questions?"

She nods, "You said it is transmitted from a cat to its owner?" I nod so she continues, "How?"

I frown from thinking, "Well, typically the cat will get the bacteria as kittens from fleas. So the cats will then transmit the bacteria if they bite or scratch a person, or licking an open cut on the person's wound."

Mrs. Manchester nods, "Yes! One of my cats, Hester, was playing in the garden, so I had to give him a bath.. He doesn't like those, but I remember he bit my finger when I turned the water on.. This makes a lot more sense now."

I smile, "Yeah, that's probably how you got the bacteria. But anyways, here is the prescription for the antibiotics, and here are the discharge papers. Take your time."

Mrs. Manchester grins, "Thank you!"

I nod, "Of course! This is my job!" She chuckles and I wave goodbye so I can head home for the night. On the car ride home I can't stop thinking about Andrew and how great of a person he is. He's so romantic. Every time he kisses me butterflies fly through my stomach. I feel just like a teenage girl with her crush. It feels good to be in love again.. It feels right to be with Andrew.
