Spring had just begun and your boyfriend Snufkin was coming back from traveling south for the winter. Normally Moomin was the first to see him for the year but this year it was you. This was the third spring since you began dating and it was getting serious.

Snufkin made his way through the now waking forest. His hands and nose still frozen as the world was still drowsy from winters slumber. While each tree passed and the leaves crunched below his old boots you cleaned your cabin. 
A fire blazed in the fire place while you swept the floors and gathered the linens to be aired. You opened the windows and leaned against the window sill with a hot cup of drink. 

Soon Snufkin and his whole family would be here. He, Joxter, Mymble and all of Mymbles many many children. It was good that your simple cabin had plenty of rooms. As you dreamed of your darlings embrace and all the fun you may have this year you hear something just out of sight. 
"Snufkin?"
Instead of a verbal response you heard the song of a mouth organ. He had returned early on the first day of spring as he usually did. Instead of run to him you stood on the porch and watched him play the whole way to you. As soon as he finished and put away you jumped into his arms.
"Its so good to see you Snufkin!"
He gave you a couple kisses and smiled wide.
"Its lovely to see you too (Y/N)!"
You lead him inside and dipped him out some soup while he warmed his hands over the welcoming flames. 
"So tell me about the south? What is it like these days?"
"Mighty sad i'm afraid.."
You choked on your food a little and had to cough a couple times to recover.
""Mighty sad"? What do you mean?"
Before moving to the valley you lived in a place where it was ran by a ruler of sorts that was running the place into the ground.
"Ah, its nothing to get into on such a good day. Screw capitalism! We are here and now."
With that comment he got up and leaned on the table where you sat. He had a look in his green eyes and you felt the same as you sensed. He leaned down and kissed you sweetly. 
His lips were a little chapped from the cold but it felt so welcoming.

You quickly slipped from your seat and lead him to another part of the cabin, it was your room. The bed was soft and plush so much so it nearly enveloped your darling when you placed him down on it. 
"Do you want to do this Snufkin?"
He nodded eagerly and hummed a yes while he reach up to pull off your shirt and pepper you in kisses. 
Soon you both were undressed and you were busy treating him with your gentle touch and kissing all down his neck and shoulders. Snufkin let out noises you thought was the most beautiful you had ever heard. Once he was as worked as you could get him you help him turn over and grab some of the cooking oil in your desk. 
Snufkin moaned sweetly into the bed as you held him as close as you could while still leaving room to show his ass some love. Soft skin began to feel sticky as you worked carefully to pour your heart into every movement. Taking your time this lasted an hour or more you finished and cleaned that up.

Both of you cuddled in the sunlight that poured from the window. The light shown on your back and it felt warm while you gently traced the marks on your lovers neck and shoulders. He slept quietly, half covered in a wool blanket.

~A couple days later~
The rest of Snufkins family arrived and settled in for the year. Everyone got seated in the main room and ate lunch as quietly as you could expect thirty some children to. Little My, sitting next to you, looked up with a devious grin. 
"So, i showed up on the first day of spring. You kids need to be more careful haha!" 
Both snufkin and your own face became flushed. Joxter sat down his glass and piped up.
"Oh really? You two getting into the spring spirit and getting twitterpated huh?"
My laughed so hard she nearly fell out of her chair while Mymble and Joxter chuckled. 
"Oh yeah! They were going at it like a couple of dogs!"
You sat there insanely embarrassed while the many younger children looked up in naive confusion. The two of you quickly left the house hand in hand. 

You went to visit Sniff while Snufkin went to greet his best friend Moomin. 
"Snufkin!! How was the winter??!"
Moomin ran and embraced his bestie. The boys laughed and took a seat on the riverbank so that Snufkin could tell all that was worth sharing. They lay in the damp grass while the sun went down. 
"Oh Snufkin did you get sick or something?"
He looked at Moomin confused while he reached over and touched Snufkins neck carefully. His scarf must have slipped loose as the couple day old hickeys were exposed.
"O-oh.. Ah- uh no i just had a bit of a break out. Must have been something in the food down south.."
Moomin nodded, buying the lie while snufkin thanked the heavens it was dark enough out to disguise his maddening blush.
"But i have a secret i want to share with you."
Snufkin pulled out a little box while moomin peered excitedly. The box was opened to reveal a hand crafted ring. In it was carved your favorite flower next to Snufkins favorite. 
"I want to propose to (Y/N) so i am gonna take him to the top of lonely mountain."
Moomin clapped his hands and smiled as wide as he could. 

The next day Sufkin took you to the top of lonely mountain for a picnic. The both of you had a great time chatting and soaking in the warm sun. 
"(Y/N)?"
You looked up at him as he stood then helped you to your feet. Something was coming but you didn't know what.
"Yes?"
Snufkin got down on one knee and stuck a shaky hand in his coat pocket. He produced a small box and looked like he was going to cry when tears welled in your own eyes.
"(Y/N).. Pumpkin.. W-will you do me the honor of marrying me? I know i go away a lot and i had been thinking that maybe i want to settle down or at least travel with you. All you do is support me and take care of me when i'm unwell. It'd be a fool choice to ever let you go."
At this point you were both crying happy tears that wet the front of your shirts and fell hot like the love that filled each others hearts. You helped him to his feet and squeaked out a yes. 
"Yes Snufkin my darling.. Yes,"
You took his hand and turned to the cliff before shouting it to the world.
"Yes YES i will marry you!!"
