SPRINGTIME

The scorching cold burnt me to a crisp in wintertime,

Now I rise from my ashes like a phoenix in springtime,

Like a deciduous tree, I am giving birth to new green leaves.

I pop out after having been locked in for a long time,

Now, just like jasmine flowers do, I bloom over time,

You called me out, so I'll show you I have a trick up my sleeve.

I worked arduously, so it's high time I reaped what I'd sowed,

My spirit perished, but was resurrected and later endowed,

It was endowed with sheer will and never-say-die attitude.

This is my moment to stand out, right here and right now,

So I can shine brighter; I have fierceness and know-how,

I know I can achieve any of my life goals with certitude.

You slaughtered my hope in December, by April it'll be revived,

You roamed the streets nonchalantly, while I was deprived,

Now you'll see me outshine you, me, whom you despised.
