new kid

the little ginger stood in front of the mirror in his room, looking at his little uniform for the new school he'd be attending. he wore black pants, a light blue button up with a black and light blue striped tie, and the school blazer. claire had styled shane's hair perfect and neat for his first impression to the school.

"shane! we got to go, school starts in half an hour" his father yelled from downstairs, as claire fixed his tie to his suit and shane trotted down the spiral staircase. "come on bud, be more excited. i'm sure you'll love it there."

shane got in the car with his father, as he stared out the window the entire time, not caring if his father was trying to talk to him. it didn't take long for shane to finally see the huge building, as many kids were walking in to the school. shane then looked up to see the big bold letters on the school building: Fox Acres Academy

sounds tragic.

kyle parked his car in a slot by the entrance, getting out of the car and taking shane's small hand into his. they walked up the stairway and into the school's office, as shane was greeted with a nice wide smile from the front office attendant.

"hello! welcome to fox acres academy! you must be shane, you're going to absolutely love it here." she smiled at him, as she then handed shane his small schedule. "we'll have one of our top students direct you to class, they share your exact schedule so they can always direct you if you need it."

then, almost on cue, two boys came out of an office laughing as their eyes then looked upon shane, and they instantly smiled. one of them had big circular glasses and his hair was a little bit messy but still looked good, and the other had ginger hair like shane's as he had a nice smile on his face.

"name's garrett, this is my buddy andrew." the circular glasses one smiled, as he then extended his hand out to shane. "you must be a new kid, welcome to fox acres."

shane softly smiled over at the two, before looking up at his father. kyle crouched down to his son's height, wishing him a good day with a slight kiss on the forehead before leaving out the entrance. shane turned his attention back to the boys in front of him, as they signaled him to follow them and started to walk away.

"so new kid, what's your name?" garrett asked, turning his head to shane with a soft smile.

"uh, it's shane. shane yaw." he responded in a soft manner, not really trusting the two boys but he wanted to make friends.

"well shane, let's be honest. the school expects a lot from it's students, even at our grade." andrew chimed in, turning around and walking backwards. "how did you do at your last school?"

"it was a public school, and the teachers were really nice." shane spoke, as he clutched onto his backpack straps. "i was a top student back at my old school."

"really? interesting. no wonder you're in our classes." garrett chuckled, walking into their hallway and halted in front of their classroom.

"what do you mean?" shane asked, not quite understand the logic that garrett and andrew were trying to explain.

"this school is big about grades and blah blah blah, they group the highest together and the lowest together, the average kids will range from any class." andrew explained, rolling his eyes as he seemed to be disgusting by the school. "but hey, it's a good school."

garrett then opened the classroom door, and there sat about twenty students in their desks and the teacher was at hers. all the kids looked up from whatever their attention laid on, it was now all to shane. the teacher smiled from her desk, as garrett and andrew put shane into a desk near theirs.

"welcome class. we have new student today, mind introducing yourself young man?" the teacher said, as she had a little smile on her face.

"i'm shane yaw, and i moved here from california." shane beamed, as he then waved slightly to everyone before then looking back at the teacher.

"it's nice to have you shane, i'm sure that you'll make a lot of new friends here." she said, before then walking back to her desk and sitting down.

"by the way, that kid over there that's the top kid in a our grade, he's kind of a big deal to all these third grade girls." andrew laughed, as he pointed over to the other side of the classroom.

shane turned around in his desk, looking upon a boy that stood in front of his friends. he had nice dark blonde hair with light blue eyes that had tints of gray in them. he must have felt shane's stare as he looked over at shane, letting a little smile emit on his lips. the little boy casually walked over to shane, and extended his hand.

"pleasure to meet you, i'm farlan."
