Chapter 5
ii). Super Secret Spot
-------------------------------------------
The drive to the "Super secret spot" took longer than I expected. We blasted breakup songs like Kelly Clarkson's Since U Been Gone and basically every song from high school musical. Eventually we took a turn too a dirt path and stopped in a large clearing.
"Chloë welcome to the super secret spot." Gabbie announced. All the other girls started cheering and I smiled wide. It's nice having a friend group like this. We all filed out of the car and walked up to a large stream, almost a river, with beautiful water. One side of the stream was covered in trees and the side where we were standing was completely clear.
"Are you ready to see why we like this place so much?" Tate asked. I nodded twords her as she pointed to a tree with a rope tied to it just above the stream. "The water is deep enough here to jump." She said. "Wanna try?"
"I don't have a swim suit." I said casually.
"Oh come on, just wear you bra and underwear, it's basically the same as a bikini." Kay said.
"I guess you have a point." I said as all the girls smiled.
"It will be some much fun, trust us." Christina said.
"Fine fine, I give." I said as I raised my arms in surrender.
We swung into that stream for what felt like hours. We laughed and talked about or problems and agreed that friends always came before relationships. They truly understood me. Gabbie took out a blanket from the back of her car for us to lay on while it got dark. We watched the sun set and we saw the beautiful stars in the sky.
"Look at those stars." Kay said. "It looks like the poop emoji." Kay giggled as the rest of us laughed.
"Hey guys." Christina said. "Is it bad that I miss him? Like really miss him." Christina asked.
"You miss Corbyn?" Tate asked.
"Ya I-I think I do. Like I'm here for us, our group, and I know I can't be with him and still be friends with all of you after all the drama with the boys but-" She started to cry. "I-I mean he was never a bad b-boyfriend to m-me. He w-was great. My wittle snuggle bear." She broke into sobs.
"Oh Christina it's okay." Kay said. "You don't need to choose between us and him, you know that."
"But it just feels wrong, liking the enemy."
"I sort of understand how you feel." Tate said. "Jonah might have been controlling but he wasn't mean. I kind of feel bad that after I broke up with him, he became a bad guy. He bullies people and try's to show his dominance, and I feel bad that I made him feel that way."
"Since we are saying confessions and everything, I need to say something." Gabbie said. We all looked at her. She exhaled. "I never really liked Jack, I mean I liked him at first but he wasn't for me. I stayed with him for so long so I could be closer to Daniel, but now they all hate me." She confessed.
I smiled at them, how their broken parts brought them together as a group. I'm glad they took me here.
"Mabey you guys should try talking to them." I said.
"NEVER!" They all shouted.
"Why? If you like them what's stopping you?" I asked.
"They have done things to us, ruined all of us. I can't face those boys ever again." Kay said.
What could they have done to make them this mad, no, scared.
