The ride down was nerve racking. Most of the delinquents shouted and cried, while others found it exciting and shouted in pure bliss. I looked over at octavia, she seemed unfazed, but she had tears rolling down her cheeks. I grabbed her hand.
"Its ok, I'm sure your brother will be fine, if anything thankful." I reassured, "You won't be floated, and knowing your safe, will make him feel better." She looked at me with her sad eyes.
"How do you know that he will know I'm still alive and safe?" She spat out in frustration. Her eyes turned sad to furious. I lightly smiled.
"We have a radio on here, as long as it is not damaged, we can contact those fuckers, and he will know." After hearing that, she calmed down. The drop ship shook violently, notifying that we broke through the atmosphere.
"Brace yourselves! We could hit the ground any moment!" I yelled. Everyone and thing went silent. A huge crash sounded, and people jerked down. We made it. I unbuckled and ran over to the switch to open the doors while others got up. A tall man got to the switch first. His hair was dark and slicked back, with freckles scattered across his face and he had dark eyes. I looked down and saw that he was wearing a guards uniform. My eyes widen.
"Don't worry, I stole this uniform," He rolled his eyes at me. I pushed him out the way.
"All right people, we don't know if this air is safe or not, so be prepare-" He started to talk, but I got bored with him and pushed the button to open the doors.
"Hey!" He shouted. The door hit the ground, and I went over to octavia.I grabbed her hand, and led her outside. We both put a foot on the ground, followed by the others. I inhaled the air. It was fresh and clean.
"We're home!" I grinned. I looked over at Octavia. Her smile was big and her eyes blossomed with excitement.
"We're back bitches!!!" She screamed, and everyone ran out of the ship while they screamed with excitement.
"O?" The tall idiot walked up to us, and Octavia let go of my hand and ran into his arms with wide eyes.
"How did you get on with us, Bellamy?" She cried. I rolled my eyes. I wasn't a fan of Bellamy Blake. During the 'dark ages' of school, he was one of many kids who had bullied me, all because they thought that i was 'one of the privileged'.
I walked off to look around, and an arm dropped onto my shoulders as a chuckle followed.
"Artemis Kane. Never thought, out of all people, you would be the one to bring us down." I looked up and saw a smiling John Murphy. I rolled my eyes and shoved his arm off. "Hey! Don't be so sour!" He yelled out, but i continued walking away.
I reached the city that was near the forest we landed in. The roads were terribly cracked,or completely non-existent, and most buildings were collapsed on their sides. I continued venturing the city, until i met the middle. I recognised the memorials, Washington D.C. The sign was partially destroy but, back on the ark there were books of the old world before the nuclear war. They had what cities were where and what they looked like.
Now, nothing resembled what was in the photos, except for one. I wandered over to the memorial that had, based on what the books said, one of the greatest presidents in history, Abraham Lincoln. After I climbed the destroyed stairs, I kneeled in front of his statue and stared. Seeing the glorious statue in person was something I never thought I would see. As a few tears shed down my face, i spoke.
"Why did this happen?"
I broke out of my trance when I heard a branch snap behind me. I grabbed a rock and stood up. Bellamy held his hands up, and octavia behind him started on.
"Woah there, just came to find your wandering ass" He scoffed. I rolled my eyes and threw the rock down. I walked past him, and over to Octavia.
"Why are you here? It could be dangerous!" I looked at her worried, and she just shook her head.
"I could say the same for you," She replied. Bellamy walked up to us.
"So am I just invisible now?" He whined. Ignoring him, I locked arms with octavia, and started to walk back. Bellamy tried shouting out to us, but we continued on as he ran after us.

Once we made it back to where we landed, tents were already up, and it seems no one bothered to try and make weapons to hunt for possible food. I sighed letting go of Octavia and headed toward the drop ship.
Octavia POV:
When we got back to camp, Artemis let go of my arm and stormed off. It was strange of her to just disappear, but with my brother around, who could blame her when he can be a real dick. I turned to him and gave him a dirty look.
"What the hell bellamy, all she has been to me, is nice, and you turn around and act like a jerk to her!" I complained. He shook his head and walked off. I ran after and grabbed his arm.
"What the hell, Bell?!" I yelled. He turned around and shot me a frustrated look.
"She is one of the privileged, Octavia." He spat, "For all we know, she could be acting nice to get you to follow her, like she is the leader" I let go of his arm in disbelief.
"You may think she's privileged, but you don't know anything about her." I turned around, and headed over to meet Artemis in the drop ship.
