Mom stroked my hair as I lay in her lap, Octavia reading the Odyssey at the table. It felt as if we never left, like mom was never floated. It felt natural. I had yearned for years, for her to return to me and O, and it finally came true. Mom looked at me chuckling.

"You look like you're lost in thought Bellamy, what's on your mind?" I sat myself up, sitting next to her now. I gave her a soft smile, explaining how I was happy about her being back. She smiled and shook her head, "I'm not really back Bellamy, this isn't real, It's all but a dream." I frowned. I couldn't understand, I wouldn't. How could this be a dream? I thought, If I poked her arm, it felt real. If I hugged her, I could feel her warmth. I couldn't figure it out. How was this not real? She saw the struggle on my face and placed her arm on my shoulder. "This seems frustrating, I know, but I'm here now. Enjoy my presence before I'm lost again. Just be my happy little boy again." A tear ran down her cheek, and I wiped it from her cheek. I nodded in agreement and spent the rest of my time laying on her lap before I fell asleep.

Artemis POV:

Blake had finally fallen asleep, but on my lap of all places. O said it would probably be fine to leave him in his tent, but I wasn't up for waking him by accident and playing mother again. I decided to get comfortable, covered him in a blanket, and went to sleep after this long ass day.

"ARTEMIS!" Octavia burst into the tent, face full of excitement and worry. I sat up groggily, trying to wake up fully.

"O, where am I?" I looked around, but I couldn't figure out my surroundings. I gave up, lied down, and pulled the blanket on me over my face. Behind me, something pushed up against me, and an arm slid over my side. Confused, I looked back only to find a sleeping Bellamy. "What the hell?!" I pushed him back and stood up, almost tripping.

"Forget about him, I got something to show you!" She grabbed my arm and dragged me out of the tent of horrors. She pointed toward the sky, where I saw what looked like a falling ship.

"O- O what the hell is that?" I stammered in shock. She shrugged as we stared. I left Octavia's side, and started to gather gear, not realizing she followed. "What are you doing?" I jumped from her question. I shook my head and kept packing. "Artemi-" she started.

"I gotta see what that thing was." I answered, "If it's them, people from the arc, I have to make sure they stay away from us." I swung the bag around my shoulder ready to leave, but knew octavia would want to come along. "Octavia, I already know you want to join, but if they get you too, who knows what would happen. They may be less dangerous than the grounders, but they will try to take control with their pathetic rules." Her head drooped, but I patted her shoulder and reassured her. I walked out and toward the gate, only until I was stopped by blake.

"Where in the hell are you going?" He scolded.

"None of your damn business Blake." I continued walking off, but his hand gripped around my wrist. "Let me go Blake."

"No Artemis, your dumbass isn't going back out there." I struggled to get loose, and decided to bite his hand. He yelped and let go. I sprinted toward the gate, Blake following behind. Attempting to yell for the gates to open, I decided to climb up the damn thing, stepping where I could grip easily. "DAMN IT!" Blake roared. I continued running, chuckling to myself.

I had been wandering for hours in the direction of the fallen ship. About to give up, I smelt burnt rocket fuel and heard a faint voice. My body lowered, as I cautiously continued forward. The ship was small, and smoking profusely; didn't look like it could hold more than two people. I snuck behind the vessel, trying to look around for stragglers. Once I realized no one was in sight, I crept toward the front, listening to the weak voice emitting from the pilot side. My eyes peered into the window, only to find a girl, basically unconscious. I opened the door slowly, making sure she couldn't fall out. When I started trying to get her out, she slowly gained consciousness.

"So, I made it, huh?" She chuckled, but regretted it as she grabbed her head. I helped her down.

"Yeah," I smiled, "You sure did"

She leaned against me as we walked back, trying to keep balance. It was a quiet walk, taking in the world around us, while I struggled to keep her up.

"Names Raven" She blurted, "Might as well break the silence now" I chuckled at her way of breaking the ice.

"Artemis" I responded, "Artie, if I like you"

"How am I doing so far?" She smirked.

"Well beside the fact I'm your human crutch, not too bad!" We both laughed. Rest of the walk was quiet again, but it was a nice quiet.

We finally showed up in front of the gate, which opened faster than I've ever seen, then again Blake was waiting, so it was expected. He stormed over to the two of us, monty and O following behind.

"What the hell is wrong with yo-" I cut him off, telling O and Monty to take Raven to the dropship. As I went to follow, Bellamy blocked my path. "Artemis, we need to talk" I walked around him, and continued on. "Now Kane!" I stopped and turned on my heel.

"Don't use that son of a bitches name to call me blake!" I pushed him away and went to walk away, but the bitch himself grabbed my arm, dragging me to his tent. "First of all!" I yelled, "Fuck you!" He rolled his eyes, and sat me down.

Bellamy POV:

"Artemis, you need to be serious here," I scoffed, "You cannot go all willy nilly, into the woods, like there aren't grounders!" She crossed her arms, giving me a dirty look.

"What does it matter to you anyway Blake? It's not like you care if i'm alive or not!" She wasn't being easy. Even though I wanted to say I did care, I couldn't just say that to her, especially to her.

"I do care-" I sighed in defeat, trying to think of another reason why I care, "These kids need you, if you died, they would be in chaos, they look at you like a leader." She looked down at the ground and sighed. Not saying a word, she got up and left, like usual. I followed after, calling her name, but she kept going. I was already so frustrated from when she left, she isn't making this any better. I paced my room trying to cool down, when a girl smirking opened my tent. "The hell do you want?" I sneered. She giggled and tried explaining that I already knew, but I really wasn't in the mood. "Does it look like I want to have 'fun' right now?" She looked shocked, "Go bother some other guy". After saying that, she stormed out, leaving me to pace again.

Artemis POV:

I walk into the dropship, and up to Raven to check for any more injuries. She studies me as I look her over, and I cock an eyebrow.

"Is there something on my face?" I snickered. Her eyes stopped wandering around my face and smiled.

"So you are Kane's daughter!" She giggled. Confused, I nodded and just kept quiet waiting for her to continue. "Abby told me to get a message to you, if I found you that is" I stopped and frowned. That wretched woman, sobbing at the floating of her daughter, and yet she was a part of the reason why. "The only thing she told me to say was 'The knight and princess live on' whatever that means" She shrugged. My eyes widened. There was no way, I had seen Clarke in the airlock with my own eyes! A woman with red hair entered the drop ship and walked up to me.

"Guess mom finally decided to let the cat out of the bag" she smiled weakly. My head turned slowly to face the woman, barely able to breath with my chest tightening and my eyes began to water.

          "Clarke."
