I sat in my throne, tired. I held my father's war sword and stared at my reflection in the golden blade. My face was bloody, and so was the crown. One of the royal guards came to me in quickness. He was breathing heavily.

'What is it?' I asked tiredly.

'Your Highness, I came to inform you that we have searched all over the palace and couldn't find your brother Liam.' he said quickly.

'I am aware. If he comes back, we will just kill him. It is no big deal.' I said.

The guard had more to tell me.

'Your queen is in her room. Shall we bring her out?' he asked.

'No, I will go see her myself.' I said.

I got up from the throne and started to walk down the long hallway to her room. I was trying to think of where in the world Liam could be. I got angry at the thought of my brother. I got to the room where Queen Adeline was. She was sitting at her dresser with her head down. I stood in the door with my arms crossed.

'Why are you so stubborn? Why didn't you just accept the crown as a normal person would? They wouldn't even think twice!' I said.

'I don't want to be your queen. Why would I be queen for a psychopath?' asked Queen Adeline.

I shut the door and locked it. I quickly walked over to her and grabbed her by the shirt. I slammed her against the wall.

'I want you to be my queen so your precious Liam can come back and attempt to save you. Only then, will I have the chance to kill him and rule forever!' I yelled.

She looked at me.

'Why do you want to rule so badly?' asked Queen Adeline.

'Because, with being a king, I can do anything I want. Like, have a bunch of the villagers executed!' I laughed.

She was trying to push me away from her.

'You can't do that!' yelled Queen Adeline.

'Why can't I? I am the king, and whatever I command of people, they shall do!' I yelled.

I let go of Queen Adeline and she dropped to the ground. Someone was knocking on the door.

'What is it? I am busy at the moment!' I yelled.

'Your Highness, a person from the village is requesting to see you.' said the guard.

I looked down at Queen Adeline.

'We will finish this talk later.' I said.

I left her on the ground and walked out of her room. I came to the royal courtroom and sat on the throne. The guard let the villager in.

'What do you want?' I asked.

The villager walked to the middle of the room. I could see him shaking.

'Speak!' I commanded.

'Your Highness, my bread shop isn't doing too well with money and someone broke in last night and stole a bunch of my goods. Do you think that you could lend a hand in giving me some money in order to get my shop back in order?' asked the villager.

I looked at him in anger. I stood up and pointed at him.

'You think you can just march into my palace, thinking that you can steal money from me? How dare you!' I yelled.

The villager started to shy away from me.

'But, your Highness, I wasn't stealing. My family doesn't have anything to eat and we have no money! Please, just help us out a little bit! It would be very kind of you!' he yelled.
