The village of New Berk was setting up the New Great Hall for the big announcement the Chief and Chieftess were about to make. Everyone was very excited for what the announcement was going to be. The New Great Hall was finished decorated and everyone in the village was waiting for the Chief and Chieftess to arrive. The room went silent when they heard the doors open.
"THEY HAVE ARRIVED!" yelled a villager. Everyone in the great hall started cheering.
"Alright everyone settle down." Hiccup said walking towards the middle of the room holding Astrid hand.
"As I promise me and Astrid have a big announcement." Hiccup said.
Everyone started chatting with each other of what the big announcement could be.
"Do you want me to say it or you?" Hiccup asked Astrid but in whisper so only she was able to hear.
"Together it's our announcement after all." Astrid told Hiccup.
"Alright. You ready?" Hiccup asked Astrid.
"Yeah am ready." Astrid told Hiccup.
"Alright everyone me and Astrid are..." Hiccup said looking at Astrid.
"YOU GUYS ARE WHAT!?" Many villagers shouted.
"WERE EXPECTING OUR FIRST BABY!" Hiccup and Astrid shouted.
A lot of villagers mouth dropped. While some villagers started cheering so loudly.
"This means Astrid pregnant?" Tuffnut asked.
"Of course you dimwitted." Ruffnut told Tuffnut whacking his head.
"That means they... " Tuffnut didn't finish his sentence because he got another whack on his head.
"Don't you dare finish that sentence." Ruffnut told him giving him a death glare.
Everyone else in the village started to congratulate Hiccup and Astrid and started asking a lot of questions. Astrid and Hiccup sat down because they knew they were going to be there a while.
"What do you guys think it is a boy or a girl?" A villager asked.
"Well Hiccup thinks it's a girl and I think it's a boy since usually the first Haddock new born is a boy." Astrid said.
"Do you have any names for the baby?" Another villagers asked.
"Well me and Hiccup haven't decided yet but if it's a girl Hiccup gets to name her if it's a boy I get to name him since I think it's a boy and he thinks it's a girl." Hiccup explained.
Hiccup and Astrid kept getting asked more questions until Valka came.
"Alright I think that's enough for today. Astrid needs to rest and Hiccup should be with her taking care of her. Besides it's also getting late we all should probably head back home." Valka told the village.
Everyone understand what Valka meant and started heading home.
"Thanks mom." Hiccup told Valka.
"Anytime. You guys should head home it's been a long day." Valka said.
"Yeah. Thank you again Valka." Astrid said.
"Of course. Astrid be very careful. Hiccup take good care of her." Valka said.
"I will mom. I'll see in the morning." Hiccup told his mom giving her a hug before heading home with Astrid.
"Your father would be so proud." Valka said.
Valka was right up from above Stoick was very proud of his son.
