18| The Date

"Calm the hell down Ahira!" Jade shouts. 

I take a deep breath and literally try to calm my nerves down. 

"Gosh! Ahira relax. We get it it's your first date but damn how can you be so over excited?" Char questions.

I roll my eyes, "as if you were so calm yourself on your first date"

"I..." She just replies with no expression on her face. Why did I hit that cord?

Everyone remembers the night Char was asked on a date. She first of all literally shouted the roof off with excitement, then forced all of us to watch as she changed into all of her clothes to see which one fits perfectly. 

After that dreadful night we realized that for some unknown reason Char had ended her date early and came back home crying soaked wet in the rain. 

When everyone asked her what happened, she just simply hid the whole reason. Till date no one knows why and she is hell bent on not telling us.

"Char I didn't mean to. I'm sorry"

"Oh God guys! You know it's been so long after that stupid night. Everything is fine and I hope Ahira that this night of yours is far better than mine."

I smile at her, "I will make sure of that and don't worry, if it isn't the best night I would kill him myself."

"Ahira does Abhimanyu know about your date?" Sadhika voices.

I see Char still at his name. Something is definitely wrong I need to ask her. 

"Ahira", she repeats.

"Oh...sorry. Yeah Bhai knows. At first he was all aggressive about it but later he calmed down when I told him about his dates", I playfully say remembering how red his face was but when I agreed to his list of commandments he was looking less threatening. 

Although he still wants to greet Randheer first. I am mentally praying for Randheer to not run before even meeting me. 

"Meera why are you so quiet?" Jade asked.

My sight turns to her, she's just sitting still in front her screen. This was actually the very first conversation about Randheer that she hadn't even spoke a word.

"Nothing", the simple word doesn't sound simple.

"Tell us Meera. Is everything alright?" I nudge.

"Nothing guys, seriously"

"C'mon Meera aren't you happy for Ahira?" Sadhika asks

She immediately shakes her denying. "No absolutely not. However I am concerned about something"

"What?" I speak up.

"Ahira you say Randheer likes you but in the party when you had a dance battle...he chose Pranvi. Why?" She continued. "I mean if he had been liking you for so long, why would he chose her over you?" 

As the question completed I went still. As her words reeled in my brain I realized that she was right. Even yesterday when he asked me to go on the date he did it alone, away from everyone else. 

Later when we went to the Principal's office he moved away from me as if I was even barely there. Then why the hell would he ask me on a date when he is so ashamed to admit in front of his friends about us?

I sat on the bed quietly. I gaze at the girls and their eyes are on me, waiting for my response. 

"Maybe...."

"Maybe he just wants to know her first", Char spoke up.

"Yeah maybe he is assuring himself before showing you off to his friends", Sadhika joined.
