"excuse me", ariana excuses herself as the group of three people walk out
Niall waited till ariana left
"Shawn, you need to know something", he started
"This is all a trap, ariana and nick the both of them. They're all in this to ruin camila", he sighed
"Nick? What do you mean he's on it too?", I arched an eyebrow
"Yes, him too. Money plays more of an important role than his 'love', Ariana and him are going to completely shatter the poor girl", he gulped his glass of water
"What the fuck? Why do all of this?", I watch him intensely searching for answers
"You. She loves you, more like obsessed with you. Camila took Nick away from her and now you. This is all for revenge... Ariana never loses, remember?", he fidgeted with the thread hanging on the table mat
"Naill, why didn't you do something about it? Stop her? You knew about this all along and watched her fall into a dark path", i scratch the back of my head
"You think I haven't tried? She's stubborn so so stubborn, Shawn. You know this more than anyone else. This isn't a joke anymore, a silly game, it's war. I'm scared of what might happen if it doesn't go her way", his eyes soften
"This can't happen, I need to protect Camila", I sigh
"No, Shawn. If you do anything wrong and Ariana ends up doing something to herself I'll make sure you regret it", he threatens
He's so blinded by love that he can't distinguish between what is right and wrong
"Hey guys", ariana returns soon after and Niall gives me a look as if warning me
"Hi", Niall replies
"Babe?", Ariana caresses my cheek
"Don't touch me", I bluntly respond which catches her by surprise
"I'm going to head out now", I sigh grabbing my wallet and making a move
Camila
"You okay?", Dinah rubbed my back
"Yup, I'm fine or I will be... soon", I plaster a weak smile for her sake. I've been putting so much burden on her with my problems.
"Hey Dinah", I stop
"Yeah?", she looks at me with a smile
"Thank you for everything", I run into her arms
I'm so grateful for Dinah.
"ahhhh enough of the pda cabello", we laugh
Nick and the two of us separated our paths soon after the traumatic scene at the café
"I think I'll go for a walk in the park to clear my head", I smile at Dinah
"See you later", she smiles
I'm going to be sharing an apartment with Dinah for the time being, we'll split the rent
The park, my favorite place to be. The sun dipped below the horizon, the sky a blazing orange with a fusion of purple and blue.
"Try harder", the kid tries to reach for the ball stuck between the branches
"I'm trying", the other kid groans with a ball in his hand
"Let me help", I butt in and trying climbing the enormous tree
After shedding a lot of blood, sweat and tears I manage to reach the top but the depression between the branches that held the ball was at a great distance making it difficult for me to reach.
"What's wrong?", I heard someone say in the background as I struggled to reach for the ball
"Our ball is stuck", they whine when I watch a stone like structure being thrown at the ball causing it to fall.
Smart move, should've thought of that before.
"Thank you", the two of them chirp and head back to play
Now there's only one problem, I have no idea how to get back down from this humungous tree
"Need help?", the familiar soothing voice said, I didn't know I was craving it that much
I shift my gaze to the right to see an amused Shawn
"Very brave, aren't you?", he chuckles
Huh? How can he be so humorous? How can he pretend like nothing's wrong between the two of us, everything's just peachy?
I ignore his sarcastic comment and try climbing down
"Camila, can I help you?", he requestioned earning no response he sighed
I managed to reach the lowest branch which was still a couple feet above the ground
I need to take the name of god and jump
"I'll be here to hold you", he got closer to the tree
"Don't touch me", I said bluntly
"Fine, I'll just stand here. JUST IN CASE", he emphasized on the 'Just in case'
I rolled my eyes and jumped into to ground falling right into his arms, his firm arms around me felt so good, I loosened his grip and broke our contact already missing his touch.
"Do I have stupid written on my face?", I crossed my arms
"Uh, no?", he tilted his head in confusion
"Exactly, I'm not falling for this act you're putting on. Pretending to care when you really don't", he laughed
What. The. Hell.
"Firstly, I'm not here to persuade you into falling in love with me again or sweet talking you into anything. Secondly, I live close to this park and come here from time to time as you may know. And you have no idea why I did what I did and you really don't need to, Camila", with that he left me frozen on the ground with a hundred more questions than I already had.
