Y/N's POV.

The last two days had been spent helping my parents run the café but whenever I had a spare moment to myself it was filled with the image of someone who didn't even exist.

Had I really given Martha such a detailed description at such a young age? It didn't seem plausible, I can barely remember the memory but whenever my eyes fell over the sketch my heart raced.

"Y/N you're ridiculous, get a grip. It's just a sketch, you're reading too much into this."

"Why is my best friend talking to herself?" The familiar Cornish accent caused a chuckle to sound in my throat, trust Lewis to be standing there witnessing my mini meltdown.

I wiped down the counter and lifted my head to find him leaning against the open doorway, surfboard tucked under his arm.

"You should've been with us today, the waves were killer." He winked at the new girl Suzie as she cleared a table that a cute older couple just vacated, Suzie blushed and knocked over the cups as she tried to gather them.

"Lewis, stop flirting with the new girl and put a shirt on! I don't want you scaring the customers away!" I rolled my eyes, shooting Suzie an apologetic look as she scurried back to the kitchen.

"Aw, she's adorable." Lewis chuckled as he walked behind the counter and headed down to the staff bathroom.

"DON'T YOU DARE!" I whipped his ass with my towel as he walked by me.

"Ow! What was that for?" He cocked a brow, rubbing the sore spot.

"Don't go after Suzie, she's a good worker and we need her for the busy tourist quarter. I know exactly what you're like, all you do is surf and sleep around. Suzie is a nice wholesome girl and I don't need you breaking her heart." I pursed my lips, giving him my best 'don't you dare test me' looks.

"Aw, you jealous Y/N?" He smirked, pushing open the bathroom door.

"I will never be jealous, you're like a brother to me so stop acting weird." I rolled my eyes, leaning against the door frame as he splashed water over his face and attempted to calm the wild curls which kept falling across his blue eyes.

"So, why were you talking to yourself?" He questioned, eyes meeting mine

"So, why were you talking to yourself?" He questioned, eyes meeting mine.

"Martha gave me this sketch, it was the prince I used to talk about all the time when we were kids."

Lewis smirked, he obviously remembered.

"You were so obsessed with fairytales, convinced if you visited the castle often enough he would come for you." Lewis chuckled.

The two of us had been friends since my family moved here, it was a small village and everyone wanted to welcome the new family and so our parents became good friends which in turn led to Lewis and I spending lots of time together. I was an only child so having Lewis made adjusting to life in the quaint village easier, he was like a big brother to me even though there was only two months between us.

"Well when I was like ten she asked me to describe what my prince looked like and apparently sketched him for me, for some reason she only told me this a couple of days ago and it's been bothering me since."

Lewis laughed, flexing his muscles in the mirror.

"It's just a sketch Y/N, besides why would you want something that doesn't exist when you've got something far better right here."

I rolled my eyes for what felt like the hundredth time since he arrived at the café

"Gross, put on a shirt."

I threw his shirt to him, laughing at his fake wounded expression

I threw his shirt to him, laughing at his fake wounded expression.

"Ouch, you hurt my feelings." He pouted, pulling the shirt over his head before meeting my gaze again.

"Okay, let's go take a look at this sketch and then you can tell me why it's been bothering you so much

"Okay, let's go take a look at this sketch and then you can tell me why it's been bothering you so much." Lewis turned around, resting his back against the sink as his mood finally turned serious.

"I know it sounds ridiculous, it's only a sketch but I can't stop thinking about it. I just feel weird whenever I look at it, I had to lock it away in my bedside table drawer last night." I cringed, realising how pathetic that sounded.

"You're a massive creep Y/N." Lewis laughed, dodging my fist and running out of the café.

"Come back here you little shit!" I growled, ripping off my apron and throwing it to my dad who had just entered the café for his part of the shift.

"Language young lady." He frowned.

"Sorry dad, love you...bye." I placed a kiss to his cheek and then ran out the door after my idiot best friend.
