Colby's Pov
Next morning

I was laying in bed thinking of how I would ask maddie out when Sam came into my room "everyone is out of the house except maddie, just thought you should know" "ok thanks bro, see you later" and with that he left. 'Perfect' I thought, I got up and went to the kitchen and saw maddie making breakfast. I asked "can I have some" she jumped back and almost hit me "I'm sorry if I scared you!" "No it's ok, and yeah you can have some too"

After we eat I go to my room to plan a day with her, but then she came into my room and said "I'm going so you'll be the only one here, and please don't prank me" We laughed at the last part and then she left. 'Now how am I going to ask her out' I couldn't be in this tiny room anymore so I decided to take a walk to the park to clear my mind and come up with a new way to ask her.

Maddies Pov

Sam came into my room and told me everyone is gone so I went downstairs and made breakfast, but was interrupted soon after by Colby when he scared me. I made us breakfast then went to my room, I got my guitar and song book and told Colby I was going out.

I went down the street to the park and sat on the playground, luckily there was no one there today so I didn't have to worry about parents giving me odd looks. I got my pen and notebook out and started playing notes on my guitar, writing them down ever so often. Once I got the beat down I started writing the lyrics. I was about to play and sing the song that I just created when out of no where Colby walked by and said "what are you doing up there?" I started to panic, no one knows that I play guitar or even sing. I tried to think of an excuse but I couldn't so I told him the truth "I'm writing a song" he started climbing up the playground "cool, can I hear it" "I just wrote it now and it's probably not that good and I sound like a dying donkey when I sing" "well I'll be the judge of that" I couldn't just say no so I started to play

(A/n: just pretend that Sabrina carpenters songs are actually Maddies and that they sound the same)

I finished and looked up at him and he said "maddie that was amazing! You have an amazing voice" I blushed and looked away, he could tell I was embarrassed "don't be embarrassed, it was really good. You and Aaron should do a collab, hes an amazing singer too" "I don't know, nobody except you knows that I sing, not even Corey" "why?" "I don't know I guess I was scared people would say I was bad at singing" "well I'm telling you that your an awesome singer, no matter what anyone says" I looked at him and we stared at each other for a while until he said "Can I ask you something?" "Go for it" "will you go on a date with me?" Was Colby Brock really asking me to go on a date with him? I mean how could I say no! "Of course I'll go on a date with you" "ok, meet me downstairs at 6:30 tonight. Wear something comfy" and with that he was gone, I just sat there in shock. I looked at the time and saw that it was 12:00 so I had some time. I worked on my song for a little longer and then decided to go home, by the time I got back it was 1:30 so I went to my room and watched movies until 5:00.

Colby Pov

After I found maddie in the park I went home and started making a list of things I need. After I finished I went to the store and got a lot of snacks and blankets. When I got home she was in her room so I called Brennan and told him the situation and if he could help me set it up. He of course said yes so I drove to his house and we started planning. This was going to be the best date she has ever been on.
