"Alright Arden, that should be it." Dr. Henderson said as she rose from her seat and pulled the blue rubber gloves off of her hands. "You should keep off the leg for a few days. I don't want those stitches to tear. Got it?"

Arden rolled her eyes as she pushed herself into a sitting position. She had heard Bailey tell her the same thing a thousand times before. "Thanks Doc."

"You're welcome." The slender, blonde, women flashed a kind smile over her shoulder. "Now, I'll go inform Mr. Stark that everything's finished, you just stay here."

The glass door shut behind Dr. Henderson, leaving Arden to sit alone in the small infirmary. She stared down at the large, white, bandage that was wrapped around her mid calf.

She gentle touched the tips of her fingers to the blood spotted bandage. Her fingers traced the bumps of the fresh stitches, admiring the Doc's handy work. She had to admit that the stitch job was a lot better then the ones she had gotten from Bailey.

Hell this one might not even leave a scar.

The wound still hurt like hell however. She could still feel the uncomfortable throbbing even with the painkillers she had been given. But what sucked the most was that she was down a pair of jeans. Between the blood and cutting through them, there was no way for her to save her favorite pair of pants.

Arden was pulled from her thoughts by the squeak of the door opening. Her eyes shot towards Tony as he walked into the room. She was quick to notice his usual sarcastic expression, and the beige folder in his hand.

"How's the leg?" He questioned and took a seat where the nurse had been sitting prior.

"Better. What's that?" Arden motioned to the folder. She never understood why important information was kept in beige folders, it was such a dumb movie troupe.

Tony pressed his lips together and handed the folder to her. He sat back in the chair and crossed his arms over his chest. "All the information SHIELD could drag up on you. I gotta say the attitude makes sense now."

"A file, all about me, i'm faltered." Arden retorted and picked it up. It wasn't very large which wasn't surprising. She had practically dropped off the face of the earth when she got her abilities. "Has anyone else seen whats in here?"

Tony shook his head, his expression changing to a softer one. "Just me and Maria Hill."

She nodded, the tension slowly easing from her shoulders. She wasn't sure she wanted anyone to know about her past. It wasn't the average persons past, and she honestly didn't want people to blame trauma for who she is.

"Well." Arden broke the silence and flashed a sarcastic smile at Tony. "Thanks for the medical care but I should get going. I have a cat to feed." She drummed her hands on the side of the medical table before sliding off onto to her feet.

"Not so fast Kid." Tony quickly rose to his feet and put his hand out in front of her. "We have to talk."

"Why!" She tossed her head back and groaned dramatically.

"Because you're reckless, and impulsive, and you keep getting in my way." Tony crossed his arms over his chest, making his black shirt bunch up around his biceps. The soft expression he once had was now replaced by a more serious frown.

"Oh," Arden raised a brow, silently challenging him. "And you're not?"

"That's not the point Arden. Because of your reckless behavior potentially dangerous tech is now out on the streets. The warehouse raid and the tech getting stolen was all apart of a plan for SHIELD to find a major black market dealer. But then you had to come along and stick your little blue nose in it."

Arden puffed out her cheeks and crossed her arms over her chest. She couldn't help but feel like a little kid getting scolded for stealing the last cookie. "How was I supposed to know that?"

"It doesn't matter. You're the one that created this mess and you're going to help us fix it." Tony stated. There was no room for negotiation and the stern look in his brown eyes cemented that in.

Arden dropped her arms to her sides and scoffed. "Yeah no. See, in case you haven't caught on yet, i'm not a superhero."

"Sorry Kid, but you don't have a choice in this." Tony said with a sarcastically smirk.

"But wouldn't it just be easier to let me go? I'll just stay out of your way and you can stay out of mine?"

"No. You'll be staying in the tower until this mess is cleared up. Some SHIELD agents are already at your apartment gathering up your things." Tony flashed her a cocky smirk before turning towards the door. "Oh, also, Hank and I want to take a look at you're abilities later."

Arden narrowed her eyes at the taller man and clenched her jaw, "I'll show you my fucking abilities."

Tony snickered as he pulled open the infirmary's door. "Let me show you to your room."

She wanted to punch him. If she didn't hate him before she sure as hell did now. She wasn't a good guy, she didn't help people; she did what she wanted and she didn't give a crap if someone else didn't like that.

With a huff Arden let Tony lead her through the Avengers Tower. He gave her a quick tour before bringing her to the housing floor she'd be living on.

The elevator opened up to a large common space with a set of three apartments on either side of it. Across from the elevator was a wall of windows over looking New York. Two leather sofas sat in the middle of the room, facing a tv that was mounted to the wall between two apartment doors.

"So you'll be sharing this floor with you're favorite star spangled boy scout, Barnes, Spider-women, and Hawkeye." Tony said as he opened the door to the room Arden would be staying in.

It was an average hotel looking bedroom. It had a queen sized bed, a decently sized closet, a private bathroom, and a large set of windows that overlooked the city. Arden walked over to the bed and flopped down on it, wincing slightly from landing on her bad leg.

"This is like a vacation I never asked for. Or wanted. Actually it's nothing like a vacation." Arden gave Tony a sarcastic look and he simply smiled back.

"Rest up Buttercup because as soon as Dr. Henderson clears you I want to see what you're capable of." Tony said. He grabbed the doorknob and turned to leave Arden in peace.

"Why?" She blurted out before her brain could catch up to her mouth.

Tony glanced over his shoulder at her and let out a deep breath. "Because i like to know what exactly i'm letting stay in my house."
