Everything is spinning. Close your eyes. It's really cold out tonight. I'm cool with it because my skin can't feel the bite of the chill from all the beer. I don't even know where I am right now. I see faces I recognize, but I can't seem to be able to say the words I mean to say. They come out in a slurred mess.
Steph is already passed out. She always does this to me. Always leaving me alone, falling to the ground because I'm so clumsy after a few drinks. She allows herself to go that far, because she knows Ben will take care of her. I hate Steph like this, which makes me drink more out of pure boredom... and that never helps anything.
Ben decides to take Steph with him to show people how to get out of this maze of confusion, and I'm left alone with him. I feel the warm glow of the fire along the front of my body. I've started feeling how cold it is regardless of all the alcohol I've drank tonight in my attempt to forget about the stuff going on at home.
"Why don't you come get in the truck with me? It's really cold."
I yell something unitelligle back to him. I'm pretty sure I just called him a wimp... I'll have to apologize for that tomorrow.
I never thought the night would turn out the way it did, and oh boy, was I NOT prepared for it.
