"Let's see what you can do, Hayabusa."
I stood five feet away from Hayabusa. I had challenged him to a traditional sparring match, Sonoba.
No one had beaten me since I had turned twelve. Looking at this mysterious ninja, I had the ominous feeling that I had finally met my equal.
Hayabusa smirked at me. "Let's begin." He did a fighting stance and I prepared myself too.
It was... intense.
No ones POV:
The dark shadow and the scarlet flower flew at each other, weaving and ducking, trying to catch the other off guard. When one attacked, the other nimbly ducked or defended; it was a dance of dominance. They fought for almost an hour, both realising that they had met their equal, and it would be near-impossible to beat the other. As such, they both admitted defeat.
Hanabi's POV:
This guy is good, I grudgingly thought as I thrust my blade forward, trying to make him off-balanced. Instead, he moved quickly to the side and countered my attack. As he swung his blade towards me, I ducked and swung my blade at his feet, trying to knock him off his feet.Hayabusa's POV:
As I sparred with Hanabi, I grew more and more astonished at how skilled she was. She could easily beat most of the seasoned Shadow Ninjas by sparring alone. Grudgingly, I begun to respect her for the skill with a katana.Hanabi's POV:
Although I never surrendered, I finally threw down my katana and growled, "You win." I was filled with admiration and respect for Hayabusa. His skill with the katana was a force to be reckoned with. I tried not to sound weak but asked quietly, "Can you teach me?"Hayabusa smiled at me. "Sure."
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Kagura snickering at us. I groaned inwardly. I'd tell her that there is NOTHING between me and Hayabusa. I don't feel anything for him. NOTHING.
