Noor's POV:
Out of nowhere, he came to rescue me which I least expected.
He started to hit Fazil, till the blood came out of his nose. Seeing the scene in front of me, I gasped.
And he stopped hitting seeing me, by the time watchman came and took that idiot from my sight.
Alhamdulillah!
"Sorry, calm down, he is gone," he told seeing me frighten by all these things, but his voice made me calm.
I drank water, all these things made my throat dry.
I saw a few of my classmates came running to me, and they started to shoot me with questions.
And suddenly I came to senses, I didn't thank him for rescuing me. How mean am?
I looked up to see him, but he is nowhere, where did he go.
"Noorie, what happened?" I heard Maryam's panicked voice.
"Its nothing, I am all fine, come let's go from here" all I want to make her calm because I know how she will react if I say what actually happened.
We both didn't attend class and sat in the cafeteria.
"So spill, I know its Fazil, i heard it from someone while I am coming" she told me about him and I started to narrate the whole incident leaving that part of him rescuing me because I am not in a mood to tell and she will ask more questions, I will tell everything once I am fine.
"How dare him to touch my best friend" she started to shout and curse him. I started to laugh listening to her.
"Noorie, I am sorry, I should have been with you" she apologised, I scolded her.
We both entered the class, for the next lecture.
My hand is hurting all this while and I chose to ignore it. That idiot held it tightly and its hurting very badly. I massaged it but it didn't go unnoticed my best friend.
She took my hand in hers, to see it clearly, I told her its nothing and pulled my hand from her hand.
"Show me your hand" she shouted, and every eye on us, and next second we both are out of the class.
She applied me ointment and muttering something under her breath and I laughed at her for scolding Fazil continuously.
After class, I told Maryam that bhai is coming to pick me up so that she can leave early than waiting for me.
"I am not leaving, let Bilal come, after that I am going" she went on saying that she can't leave me alone because of what happened in the morning.
We both engrossed in talking didn't realise bhai reached, he saw and waved at me. But I made my mind not to inform him what happened today because it will only increase more problems.
"So Noorie, I am leaving," Maryam said while we reached near the car.
Little did they know, one heart is beating in the presence of someone.
"No, you are not going alone, bhai will drop you," I told her and pulled her inside the car when she refused it.
Someone thanked his sister mentally and his heart danced.
"Why is it so silent here" I am irritated by now, these both shut their mouth, one is driving smilingly Allah knows for what, and the other looking outside the window and dreaming.
"You both speak something, I am bored" I broke the silence and both shuttered aah.
"Bhai you know her, she is my best friend Maryam and you, he is My brother Bilal," I told sarcastically because they both know each other since years.
Bhai rolled his eyes and Maryam laughed.
"So Maryam, how are you? It's been years since I met you" bhai started and I am glad he opened his mouth.
"Ah, Alhamdulillah all good, yes but Noorie used to talk about you," she told and we three spoke about random things, I eyed at Maryam when suddenly her tongue slipped the today's incident but I covered it up saying something else and she too joined.
"Assalam Alaikum, I will take leave then," Maryam said and left to her home.
We both replied to her salam, and bhai drove home.
Entering inside the home, I hid my hand so that mom shouldn't notice it or else she will start with her questions.
Looking at the ceiling above me, my mind travelled to today's incident and him.
Who is he? How did he come? Is he studying at my college? No, that can't be, because his appearance was like he is a businessman.
Whatever, I prayed for him for saving me and thanked Allah for sending him on the right time.
"Good morning students" Smitha ma'am greeted and we all replied.
From yesterday, my mind is not on track, because of him. Allah, I know its haram. But can't help it, it's just I want to thank him for saving me. If I ever see him again, I will thank him for sure. InshaAllah.
"Noorie, what are you dreaming so much, is there anything which I don't know?" My best friend told nudging me and I came out of my dreamland.
"Something is going on in my head, Maryam," I told her looking into her eyes and I know its time to spill.
"What is that, so you are hiding something from me, you idiot, how dare you?" She started to shout and I shook my head knowing her and told her to calm down.
"Idiot, I will tell, have patience now we are in class"
Sitting under the tree, our everyday spot in the afternoon, I narrated the story which was going in my head from seeing him in the traffic to yesterdays rescue.
"How can you hide all these? That too yesterday's thing" she told, I know she felt bad because I hid this from her. We never hide anything from each other, that's how our bond. MashaAllah!
"Sorry my sweetheart, please forgive this poor soul," I said pouting and she giggled hugging me.
"Now I am curious, who he might be," she said thinking that and yes even am curious.
"Only Allah knows"
"But Noorie, I think he likes you" she winked at me and I am shocked.
"What? You are mad" I shrugged it and ignored it because she is mad.
"I feel he likes you, then how would he reach on time to rescue you"
"If someone rescue, how could that be he likes me?"
"Yeah, I think I am overthinking," Maryam told and I glared at her for talking rubbish and she laughed.
Only he knows, how true are Maryam's words.
