"Why do I have to do it!"
"You lost Jongin! We agreed that the loser buys the snacks!" Baekhyun told to his whining member.
"But I always do it lately!"
"It's because you always lose lately!" Baekyun replied as a matter of fact.
"I don't want to. You cheated."
"What a sore loser you make Kim Jongin." Baekhyun tsked.
"It's ok Jongin. If you lose again next time, I'll buy the snacks." Kyungsoo calmly said.
Jongin rolled his eyes and sighed. "Fine. I'll go. But I won't next time! It's really cold outside!"
"Jongin, I'm saying it for your sake, man up a bit. It's only cold. It won't kill you." Chanyeol spoke.
"It's not because it won't kill me that I like it."
"Ah stop complaining! Just go already." Chanyeol scowled.
"I'm going!" Jongin stood on his feet.
"Take your time." Junmyeon said with his signature fatherly smile and patted his back.
"I totally will!" Jongin said as he wore his Gucci sneakers. "I'm leaving!" He said as he opened the door after wearing his black coat and royal blue scarf, and grabbing his wallet as well as his beanie.
Once out of the dorms, he wore his beanie and clicked his tongue. "Damn I'm tired." He complained. He sighed and boarded the elevator.
He shivered as soon as he exited the tall building as the cold wind slapped his face mercilessly. Winter was famous to be really cold in Korea, and the wind didn't help. Jongin felt like every winter would be colder than the previous one. He slid his hand in his coat's pocket and took out a white mask before wearing it in order to hide his face.
He made sure not to make eye contact with anyone he met on the way to the convenience store. He couldn't take the risk to be recognized in the middle of the streets.
He slid his hand in his jeans pocket and took out his phone as he walked in the dark Seoul night. He checked his messages and sighed upon seeing Soojung had still not replied to him. He texted her three hours before, but there still was no answer to his message to her. He asked her if she was having fun. She was with her sister and parents in the USA. She usually always spent Christmas and the New Year with her family, but this time, she couldn't spend Christmas with them because of work. So she left later than usual, and at least got to spend the New Year with them. Jongin knew how important her family was to her. He understood. His was just as important to him. But when she failed to reply to his messages quickly, it reminded him that she was with her family, and he wasn't. As funny as it was, her not replying to his messages made him miss his family even more.
The convenience store finally catching his eyes, Jongin slid his phone back in his pocket and hurried inside of the store. He walked around the store's shelves, thinking of what he could buy. It was past 10 pm. At this hour, the store was a bit less busy than it usually was. Only four people were with him inside of the small store.
"What am I gonna buy..." He murmured to himself, eyeing the food.
He grabbed five kimbaps, as well as nine cup noodles and three sandwiches. He walked up to the counter and quietly waited in line behind a woman who was buying what she chose.
"It will cost 18,400 ₩ please."
As he looked around and waited, he heard the woman in front of him sigh. He looked at her short figure and noticed her looking through her bag and pockets. "She must have forgotten her wallet..." He thought to himself as he observed her back figure.
