"Ah, lovely to see you miss Clearwater." Henry shouts. Henry is my boss. The sweetest 45 year old man I know. "Good morning Henry." I say. As I put on my apron I see him looking at me. "I'm fine." I reassure him. "Just the usual stuff. Screaming, taking my things like they are hers." "Have a donut and make yourself some marvelous coffee like only you can." He hands me a donut with colored sprinkles. As I put the donut in my mouth I start making the coffee. Nothing makes me feel so comfortable then the scent of coffee. "You've changed back to the old blend didn't you? I can smell the slight hint of vanilla and caramel." I say. "Knew you would be the first one to notice. I have been looking for it for almost four months. The beans are a bit more expensive, but they are definitely worth it." He says and then the doorbell rings. " I am looking for miss Clearwater, is she here? Heard she makes the best coffee in town." "I am Olivia Clearwater." I say a bit uncomfortable. "Well then I would like to have the specialty." "Take a seat, It'll be ready within a few minutes." I smile as I start grinding the coffee. "Would you like some caramel sauce on top of your coffee mister?" I ask the man in the booth. "Yes please." He smiles. "Oh and can I have a brownie too?" He asks. "Sure." I say as I grab a plate and put on a homemade brownie on it and walk over to him. "Here you go enjoy." "I'm gonna miss your happiness when you leave." Henry says soft. He has always been so kind to me. I remember the first time I got here. The smell of coffee mixed with all the sweets.
"Can I get a regular cup of coffee please?" I ask the man behind the bar. "Course, here you go. Would you like a cinnabun with it?" I look at the delicious kinds of pastry, but decide not to. I got to spend my money wisely. As if he could read my mind he says; "On the house." And he hands me the coffee and the cinnabun. "Thank you." I says as I place myself in the seat next to the window. I was just about to grab my textbook out of my bag as he asks " You aren't looking for a job are you? I was about hang this up, but I think you'd be the perfect girl for this job." He nods to the paper on the counter. I didn't noticed it until now. "I uhm.. that would.. I could always try I guess."
"I'm gonna miss you to, Henry. But I promise to visit you every now and then." I tell him. "Of course you do. You couldn't even go two days without the special blend of coffee." He says. "Well, they weren't lying. This was the best coffee I've had in years. Thank you young lady." He says after he pays and leaves. People come and go, grabbing coffee some with a snack some without. "Well I think we are done for today. You were going to Robs place weren't you? Take this with you. And don't eat it all at once." He jokes. "Go on I'll close up the place. Have a good night Olivia." "You to Henry." I smile as I walk to the house that has been more of a home to me then my own house.
*So I don't know who should play Henry. I picture him as the most kind man I've ever seen with a bit of grey hair and a smile plastered on his face. Maybe he even is a bit chubby. If you have any suggestions please let me know! Thank you for reading! ❤️
