I drive in my lunar silver metallic Honda civic...it was my graduation present and I named it Bethany. I park my car and make my way to the reception where there are five people seating in a pentagon arrangement...well what do you expect from a corporation worth billion.
"Hi, I'm Ria and I'm joining in HR Department today", the blonde named Cindy (her employee ID card says that) smiles at me and asks me to wait.
"You can go now, please take left and go to the seventh floor. Ms. Rose will be there to assist you". Cindy gives me a smile. Well at least not all blondes are mad. No offence.
The elevator is all brown and golden with a giant mirror adorning one side of it. Hmmm Sophisticated. Ms. Rose is standing in front of the entrance with a welcoming smile on her face. She appears to be in her mid thirties
"Hello Ms. Kapoor, welcome to Whitman" I smile at her as she takes me to a cabin.
"Thank you and please call me Ria, Ms. Rose"
"Ria it is then".
"this will be your cubicle Ria. You'll be assisting Ms. Anniston in her project on Talent Acquisition and analysis of the recent merger we had with Goldmine Corporate"
"Any tips from the wise one?" because news flash, I'm already falling in love with this place so I'll rather avoid making any kind of mistake.
"Ignore her jabs, darling...that's all I can say" She smiles kindly at me.
Great...I'm getting a small version of Devil wears Prada and I don't even compare to Anne Hathaway.
"Thanks Ellie, I'll take it from here", and here comes the she devil with the perfect curves and confidence. She's wearing clear cut suit with wrap around pencil skirt along with grey blouse and black blazer matching to her skirt. Six inches peep-toe platform pumps and still walking like a queen and I can feel the pain just by looking at her shoes.
"Hi, I'm Jennifer Anniston...you can call me Ms. Anniston. I'll be your mentor during this internship program and you'll do as I say, when I say and how I say...Understood?"
Wow, so much for putting my creative ideas on the desk eh
"Yes, Ms. Anniston. Understood"
"Good, these are the files containing all the relevant details for the merger we had with Goldmine corporate. Study them and let me know what is your analysis about their policies and TA. You have three hours after which we'll be having a conference with the new CEO who'll be handling this domain" She tells me all of that within less than thirty seconds while handing me over five thick files with all different colors. Boy...do I to need to work on my listening skills.
"every file has a different color which means different content inside. Do memorize to make it easier". She sits on her chair and starts typing on her laptop while I stand in her cabin waiting for further instructions.
After a minute she looks at me and raises here eyebrows.
"Do I need to send you an email to leave my office?"
"Oh no...I just...I just thought there'll be more of instructions. If not, I'll get back to my work"
"there's not"
OK then...let's go.
