When I enter the conference room, there are a whole lot more people than last time.
"Oh great, you're here" Liam is beaming with excitement like it's the bets day of his life.
"Everyone, please meet Ms. Ria Kapoor. She's joined our company this week only and has been kind enough to volunteer to present the reports on Capstone" you see here...it's a well-knit trap because everyone is looking at me as if I'm the one who's suggested to buy this company.
"Well, Ms. Kapoor...the show is all yours."
As soon as he sits down, everyone's eyes are on me...ready to blow.
"Alright...hmmmm...everyone...uhmmm"
"Anytime you want to start, Ms. Kapoor" he's GRINNING
"ummmhmm...yes, so as you all know that capstone has been in the news ...."
My presentation goes on for 2 hours to be exact where I explain them all the reasons that we shouldn't acquire Capstone and I can see that it wasn't what Liam was expecting as he doesn't look happy at all. Nope, he looks far from it.
"that'll be all" I sit down with a smile on my face.
"Ladies and gentleman, we will continue with this meeting on Monday" As soon as Liam speaks, everyone scrambles out of the room. I'm almost out of my seat when Liam stops me.
"Not you, Ms. Kapoor...you stay"
Liam shuts the door as soon as everyone's out and turns around.
"What the hell were you thinking" I guess he's angry
"What do you mean, what I was thinking...you asked me to prepare a report and I did"
"Oh, you did...didn't you. I specifically asked you to prepare a report because I wanted to buy this company and what did you do? You made a report which highly signifies that I shouldn't"
"But that's the truth...I told you already. why are you so desperate to buy this company anyways?"
"Because that's my FUCKING BUSINESS" he shouts making me flinch.
"Don't forget that you're just an employee here, Ms. Kapoor" I wanted to slap him so hard.
"Trust me, I know"
"Do you? ... you don't have any idea what you've just done and trust me when I say that I will not forget this" you know the moment you feel like...death would've been a good option. It's that moment.
"I'm going to make sure that you'll regret the day you decided to join this company" I'm already doing it...sort of.
"Now, get the fuck out of here" I wanted to say so many things but I don't think I can even form a single syllable. My tongue is tied up.
If I thought he was an Arse before...he was a full-on Satan now. No one would've worked as much during their internship as much he made me do within a week. I was a mess by the end of the week and already regretting my decision. I should've just let him buy that stupid criminal company.
I avoided him for two weeks straight by coming early for work and leaving later than everyone...not that I could help it. The amount of work that I had been given could've lasted a month but I was also too determined to prove him wrong. I will never let him win. This was life or death.
I guess two weeks' relief was enough in god's eyes because the next day when I reached office...the Satan was sitting in my chair by himself looking through my computer...
