"Liam, please forgive my intern...I believe she still hasn't come out of her little college bubble", Ms. Anniston is already to throw me out of this building. I look at Liam to gauge his reaction but can't find any, as his face is emotionless. I think I should apologies...but it was the truth, right? Then why should I? Should I apologize? Yeah, I think I should.

"Mr. Whitman, I'm really sorry about what I just said but it's just that it's a common public knowledge and I've been more of a fan of Whitman corporation and have been following every tiny detail about it and I couldn't help but state the fact that..." Jennifer's face makes me stop my apology in between and I realize that I've again insulted him. The environment is tense at the level of 105 degrees Fahrenheit or more. Oh, dear god.

"I mean, what I meant to say..."

"No need, Ms. Kapoor" He speaks simultaneously, cutting me. His husky voice is still there but his eyes are cold but he also has a smile on his face. Confusing...too many mixed signals.

"I understand, and you're right. I still have to prove my worth to be the leader of this empire. We should be proud to have such a talented intern among us who's up to date about every little facet of this company" He gives us all a smile and I feel the tension relaxing from me as well as the environment.

"Now, let's come back to our discussion. As I was saying, I require everything sorted and a report within in a week. Anniston, please see to it" Anniston nods her head in affirmation and glares at me.

"Alright, everyone it was great to have our very first meeting. We'll meet again with complete details and strategies to take it forward. Thanks" Everyone stands up and go out but I'm still rooted to my chair watching Liam checking his laptop.

I stand up slowly and walk to him. When I reach within a close proximity, I speak. Yup, you guessed right. I'm gonna apologize again.

"Mr. Whitman, I'm really sorry about earlier and I just wanted to thank you for taking it in such a good way and I..", I'm in the middle of my explanation when he looks at me. His eyes are cold enough to shut me up.
"Ms. Kapoor, let's make one thing clear. I didn't, in any possible scenario ignored what you just stated about me. I simply let it go to make an impression on my staff. It had nothing and I repeat nothing to do with you. CEO or not, let me remind you that you're just an intern in this company and if I want, I can fire you right away and no one will even bother to ask about you. That's how much you're worth". I swallow my response to this remark just for the good point's sake.

"But do you know why I didn't do it? Hmmm" He looks me up and down for the answer.

"No, Sir" at this, his eyes blaze almost like he's happy to hear that response.

"I didn't say anything because what's the point in it. You see, I cannot teach you a lesson if I fire you. You'll simply work somewhere...it might not be as big as my corporation but you'll do. Arrogant but right. No, I'll be teaching you a lesson by keeping you in my organization under my thumb and breaking your resolve inch by inch. You wouldn't be able to tell what hit you before you'll be crushed, Ms. Kapoor" He gives me an evil smirk...as if the idea of doing that is pleasing to him in itself.

"Sir, I think you're taking this the wrong way, I..." I try to give him a piece of mind but he cuts even before I can complete my sentence.

"tsk tsk tsk...Ms. Kapoor, the time for apologizing is up. Prepare yourself for a life changing lesson and oh! what a lesson it will be. I'll be looking forward to teach you" He grins at me for a moment and then starts working on his laptop again.

I'm all ready with a response to that...it's on the tip of my tongue but I swallow it. So, guys... Every single fantasy we created so far. A Big Fucking NO to that. He wants to teach me a lesson? I'll teach him how to respect. He won't even realise what happened and he'll be on his knees apologizing.

I'm in the middle of planning my comeback when he interrupts my train of thoughts, "What're you waiting for? I'm not paying you to stand here and gawk at me. Go back and start working. Because your life is going to become a one big roller-coaster".

"Of course, Mr. Whitman" I give him my best smile and make my way to the door when his voice stops me in my tracks.

"Oh, and Ms. Kapoor...don't forget that I want every single detail about this merger by tomorrow evening" I turn and the asshole is smirking. Yes guys, the ASSHOLE ASSHOLE.

"but you just said in the meeting that you want it within a week" I gape at him.

"I just changed my mind...I'm the acting CEO after all. Tomorrow evening. Don't forget and close the door on your way out" I want to smash his handsome facewith a load of horse shit...and yes I mean the actual horse shit but never mind. Better start working on the project.
