Melody paced back and forth, waiting to be called in for her audition.
The script had been waiting on her door step when Tom and her had arrived home from Toronto. And much to Melody's surprise it was a script for Dirty Dancing. The first thing she did when she saw the name on the front of the script was look directly at Tom, who had the biggest smile on his face.
"How did you-" Melody began asking but Tom quickly interjected a response.
"You just need to know the right people Mel. Plus, like I said, you'd be perfect for the role of Baby" he gazed deep into her eyes and Melody threw herself at him, script still in hand, and kissed him passionately.
"God I love you Thomas William Hiddleston!" She mumbled between kisses making Tom chuckle.
"And I love you too my darling girl" he replied releasing her from his arms and picking up her bag to drop it into her apartment.
Melody looked back up at the clock, ten more minuets, she thought to herself, still pacing up and down the room reading through her lines. Her head shot up from the script when she heard a tap on the door. Much to her relief, it was Tom poking his head around the door with a cup of tea in his hand. He'd offered to go with her to the audition for support. Back at her apartment, Melody thought it was a brilliant idea, but now all she could think about was how nervous it had been making her now he was there.
"You alright love? You've gone rather pale" he said striding over to her and placing a soft hand on her cheek.
"Just a little nervous is all" Melody whispered into his palm.
"Would you like me to go through your lines again with you?" Tom asked, removing the script from her hand when she nodded. Melody didn't find it hard to learn her lines for the scene she had to do today, it was her favourite pay off the whole production and she knew she'd enjoy every second of it. Before she thought she was ready, Tom began reading Johnny's line that cued her in.
"Someone's lost you find them, someone's bleeding-" Tom read off the page at first but brought his eyes up to meet her when he'd taken in all the lines, he was a fast reader.
"I go get my daddy. That's really brave. Like you said" Melody interrupted on cue, but Tom carried on as he should have.
"That took a lot of guts to go to him!" Tom raised his voice just as Johnny would have, Melody smiled slightly, when she practiced with Tom, it all seemed real. "You are not scared of anything". Almost instantly she snapped back into character remembering the reason she was still doing this.
"I'm scared of everything! I'm scared of what I saw. I'm scared of what I did, who I am" Melody paused as she stepped out of character, she said the next part as Melody, she wanted to say it to Tom. Because it was exactly how she felt about him. "I'm scared of walking out of here and never feeling for the rest of my life, the way I feel... when I'm with you" she placed the palm of her hand onto his cheek and looked deep into his eyes. The sight relaxed her completely, all nerves gone. That was where she belonged, she belonged with Tom.
Tom opened and shut his mouth as though he was about to say something to her but decided against it. Instead he just took a step forward and crushed his lips against hers. When the two finally released from each other, breathing heavily, Tom leant his forehead against hers and smiled.
"That, my love. Was the best you've done it so far" he whispered and kissed her nose softly. A call for Melody came over the speakers, summoning her to the stage. Her heart started to beat heavily against her chest and her breathing became short and sharp. She suddenly had the urge to relax when she felt Tom's hand find her own. "Knock em dead sweetheart. I know you will. I'll be here waiting when you're finished. " he said then pushed her out of the door towards the next big part of her life.
Tom waited patiently in the green room backstage as Melody auditioned for the part. He couldn't help but feel nervous for her, despite the fact that she pretty much had the part in the bag. To calm his nerves, Tom decided to listen to some music. He leant his head back against the wall with his earphones sitting in his ears, music blaring. Tom tapped his foot along with the music and felt his body loosen up. A vibration from his picket made him jump, it was only when he realised that it was a message from Luke, that his heart rate slowed from the shock. But not for long.
The secret is out, the media know about the baby and your relationship with Mel. I'm trying my hardest to keep it all to a minimum, but I know for a fact some of your 'fangirls' are not impressed. We need to have a chat.

Tom's eyes widened in shock, it was fair enough that the media knew about their relationship, but how the hell had they found out about the miscarriage?! He quickly typed a reply to Luke telling him he'd ring him once he'd dropped Melody home that evening. Tom wouldn't tell her anything yet, she had her career to worry about at the moment. The media and fans could wait.
The door burst open and Melody crashed through squealing with excitement.
"I got it Tom! I got it, I got the part! Oh my god this is the best day of my life!" Tom suddenly forgot all about what had just happened and a smile immediately grew on his face. Melody ran straight into his open arms and kissed him.
"Congratulations my darling! I knew you could do it" he released her and picked up her things, handing them over to her. "How about we go to a party to celebrate?" He asked nudging Melody with his elbow. Melody frowned at his question, she didn't know they'd been invited to a party. "My sister, Sarah. She's in town for the week for her birthday and she's invited us to her party. Would you like to come with me... Baby?" He winked on the last word making Melody giggle as she nodded her response.
"Of course I'd love to go Tom! When is it?" She smiled and kissed his cheek.
"Tomorrow. Now let's get you home, you've had a long day" Tom whispered as he pressed his forehead against hers.
