See here's the thing about loosing someone important to you: A change happens in your life and a lot of people want to change with the change, it's very confusing to explain but it's true. Usually people go and get a tattoo or something permanent, but the thing about change is that it's not comment. It changes. That what change means, something different happens. So, what I do is I cute my hair.

Nothing dramatic! But I give myself layers, something different to remember them by so every time I look in the mirror, I think of them, and then when my hair grows out again... The pain is no more. By then they had to of moved on.

Here's another thing, cutting wet hair isn't the funest thing to do...

As I jog down the steps, I run into his big broad chest and immeadently apologize.

"Sorry," we both mutter as I push a new cut bang out of my face.

"You cut it," Dimitri picks up the face frame and twirls it around on his fingers. Panic shot through me that he wouldn't approve but then I remembered I am my own woman and have two kids. "I like it," he mutters.

"Thanks," I muttered. "Hey, we should talk about what happened..."

Dimtri nodded. "Do you really want to?"

My eyes darted to the floor, "Not really, but I think that we need to so I can kind of get a grip of where we are."

"Right now isn't the best time, Rae is leaving, so should go talk to her." Dimitri placed a hand on my shoulder and squeezed reassuringly.

"I don't think that's best," I said quietly.

Even after all these years, he still manages to give me Zen Lessons. "Yes you do, Roza, it's just that you want the pain or her leaving to come already so that it can be gone sooner."

"Alright," I roll my eyes. "Alright, okay, fine..."

When you bring someone into a persons life, it's hard to rip them away from that life. My children have been best friends with Rae since they've come out of my womb. Now to have them geared away from her? To tell them they won't see her anymore?

The troubles of parenthood can be a bitch...

"I love you, so much, you know that, right?" We're in the terminal at the airport and we both look like idiot: fighting back tears and clinging onto each other like our life depends on it.

"As I love you... What happened to our plans of running off together into the sun set and becoming lesbians?" Rae asked into my ear. I think somehow she knows that this is the end in her gut but her heart and head is telling her different.

Dimitri was looking at us weirdly but he didn't say anything.

This was our relationship. Weird, freaky relationship of sisterhood.

"Well, I still think that plan would hold if men weren't so freakin' sexy," I laughed.

"Why! Why! I hate men, filled with so much trouble, why are they blessed with good looks?" Rae pulls away, dimples falling into her cheek. "Don't be a stranger, okay? Just because you're coming back doesn't mean no contact until that moment."

I nodded and let my kids hug her legs. "I'll see you later little ones, okay?"

"Bye-bye Aunty Rae," Mariah whispered.

"Bye, girlie," Rae left a kiss on her head and turned on her way.

I watched my other sister walk out of my life like looking through a camera. A moment of clarity and understanding, one filled with sadness but glory. One short, just long enough to last where the lens opened, then closed.
