"Rose!" A yell came form down the hall, and she was turning the corner.

"Rae..." I realized. I pushed him away quickly and started to walk towards her. Calling behind me, I said, "Damon has agreed to have lunch with you, I suggest you bring him something to eat and check up on him. He is my son, and has my trait of not being patient."

"Of course he does," he laughed. "Umm.... What does he like to eat?"

"Seriously?" I asked behind me, "He's your son! He'll eat anything!" I flash him a hidden smile and continue towards Rae.

"Hey babe!" I shouted through the hall. I run into her arms, suddenly wanting to put as much space as I could get between Dimitri and I.

"Where were you?" She asked trying to sneak a peek behind the corner, but I put my arms around here shoulder.

"With a blast from the past," I gave her a sad smile and her brows pulled together. "Dimitri is back there," I told her.

"Aww, that would explain why you are blushing like the strawberries in my basket," she reached in and retrieved a little plastic container and pulled out the strawberries.

I smiled and immediately asked, "Did you get-"

"Am I not the greatest girl friend in the world? How could I forget the chocolate to go with the strawberries?!" She really did sound offended, but I knew that she wasn't.

I kiss her cheek and hook my arm through hers. "How was town?"

"Small," she said. "Really, really, really, small.... It was like, a block long!" she laughed.

"Three blocks," I said smiling.

My phone in my back pocket rang, and I looked at the number before picking up. "Hello, Head Mistress, how can I help you on this lovely day?"

"We have an idea about how Strogoi are walking in the day. Come right away." Her voice was urgent, and clipped, telling me not to. Argue.

"I'll be there right away," I said and hung up. "Hey, something came up, I have to go-" she out on hear pointy face. I knew she wanted to hang out, but this was a little more important. "Go back to the room, hang out, I'll be back before you know it!"

"How late will you be staying out?" She asked.

"I'll be home for dinner, promise." I kiss her cheek and send her on her way so I can turn around and go back to Dimitri.

I knock again, and he answers the doom this time fully dressed. "Did you get the call?" He asked.

I nodded, "What do you think it is?"

"I have no idea, but we better hurry, she sounded urgent," he locked the door behind him, and hit his forehead.

"I was waiting for you to notice it," I nodded and smiled.

"I don't want to let Damon down... But this is important... What should I do?"

"The fact that you are debating this is a little worrying," I smiled, "Ill go be with Damon, you see what the commotion is about." I start to walk away, but he drabs my hand.

"No, Rose! Thats not what I meant..." I could tell that he was telling the truth, I knew this was hard, I did! I was in his position for a while! Maybe I should give him some time.... "I want you to go to the meeting, and let me meet Damon."

"He's with Rae right now, there is no need to sweat it, Dimitri."

He second that he mentioned Rae, his face became gloomy, but it soon disappeared, his guardian mask appearing. "How long have you to been together?"

"Since the kids were born, I guess...." I swallowed, "Rae was the only other one there that I allow to be around my children. Rae has really pulled through..."

He nodded, and said, "Go to the meeting, you can fill me in. I want to go see our son more tats listen to this meeting."

"Oh you sure? Because he is fine with Rae."

"I'm sure! Now go, Lissa and everyone needs you." He smiled at me and I took off jogging down the hallway.

It wasn't long before I reached the cooridoor where all the meetings are held, the doors are held open by some guardian and I nod my head in respect as I pass him.

"Guaridan Hathaway, thank you for showing up. It was important," Kivora said.

"I thought as much," I took my seat next to Lissa, "What is it?"

"I think we might have found a way how Strigoi are walking in the sun..." She waited in suspence; I was about to say something but Lissa broke out first.

"Well, are you gonna tell them, or what?" Lissa shouted.

Through the bond, I could tell that she was egger to get this out, find out my reaction even though she thought's I'd flip out. She knew me better than anyone, so if she was thinking I was gonna flip. I was gonna flip...

Lissa started to tap her foot on the carpet beneathe the table, her hand in Christan's squeezing it rather hard. She was upset at herself more than anything, and I wondered, 'Why'? It wasn't her fault...

I was starting to get nervous about what was about to be said, and when Kivora swallowed, flipped hair over her shoulder, and drew in a breath to give us an explaination, that's when the peices came together for me.

I sat there stunned as I listened to what I thought to be true. Please... let's not think that catastropic....

Kivora's voice rang through the small room. It felt like a prision in these moments... "There is no simple way to say this, so I'm just going to state bluntly that over the years, more Spirt users have made them selves known. When Queen Vasilisa heals someone back from being Strogoi, she changes them fully back to being a Dhampir. Well, these Spirt users, are stopping, so instead of having the Strogoi be one thing or the other, it stops in the middle. Giving them the power to not only walk in the sunlight, cross the wards, and blend into society, but giving them the chance to kill every single one of us."
