Alright Balto. I trust you, Fawn agrees.
Wait, Kiba questions. Our Motherwolves have to know where we are at all times. Should we not tell them the truth?
Balto sighs. Alright. Tell them we are all going on a walk.
I guess that's fine. Kiba reluctantly nods. Balto and Fawn cheer, causing Kiba to smile.
You won't regret this! Go tell your parents and meet back here in five minutes, Balto instructs, and the pups run off in different directions.
Not long after, they back up at the meadow. Kiba talks first.
My motherwolf is glad I made a male friend and is overjoyed we're going on a walk, Kiba grins.
Well, my motherwolf said it's okay as long as I'm home by mealtime. Fawn reports.
This is all good. My Motherwolf, said yes of course, Balto yips with happiness. Shall we go? I'll lead the way! He voulenteers. His friends nod and they set off due North.
It was a muddy path, surrounded by oak trees and large shrubs. The sun glistened in the bright blue sky, and the three best friends in their pack were trotting happily to a waterfall.
Soon, the ground began getting quite steep, and the path began to disappear. Kiba grew worried about this.
Balto, the, um, Brave. Are you sure about all of this? I mean, the path kinda... Died. Kiba rambled a bit. Balto made a carefree noise.
It's fine. Just climb the hill and we're there. Balto reassured. Kiba faintly nodded.
The rock level increased and the hill seemed to have doubled in size compared to the pups.
There was a startling moment where Fawn slipped on one of these rocks. Eeik! She cried out from the shock.
Fawn! Kiba cried, turning around to help her up. He soon was able to pull her up, while Balto simply stopped and watched.
Thank you, Kiba. Fawn says quietly, continuing to walk up the steep hillside. Kiba nods and follows her.
Hey! We're here! Balto dashed up the last parts of the hill and reached the very top. Kiba and Fawn follow, and can't believe what they see. It was a beautiful river, with grass on both sides. The water was totally clear and there were tiny rocks floating in the water. Kiba and Fawn were speechless.
Come over here and sit! Balto sat on the side of the river, close to where the cliff starts and the water falls.
The other two sat close to Balto, giddy with excitement.
Isn't it just lovely? He asks.
Yes, it is, most definitely. Kiba says.
It's beautiful here. I could get used to this! Fawn agrees, gazing the landscape.
The pups sit and talk, getting used to each other and getting to know the others. It isn't long before dinner starts appraoching, and Kiba decides it's best to leave.
Let's get home. I wouldn't want anyone worried. Kiba says, sitting up. Balto and Fawn agree, starting to stand.
Then, it all happened so quickly it was like a blur to the pups. The spot where Fawn was sitting collapsed, and she fell into the current.
