Fawn fell into the beginnings of the waterfall.

At first, Kiba nor Balro noticed Fawn's disappearence. Until they heard her head guzzling out of the water.

Kiba.... Balto... Help!... She squeaked.

Kiba and Balto whipped their heads around to see Fawn paddling against the water current.

Fawn! Kiba yelled with urgency, running over to the water. Balto followed Kiba, both of them praying for Fawn's life.

We'll save you! Balto screamed, and Kiba nodded.

Fawn didn't react except for slipping underwater once more.

The two male pups yelled her name in encouragement, thinking of ways to save her.

There's a rock sticking up out of the water, Kiba pointed out. Try to grab onto it! He yelled to Fawn, whom tried to swim towards that rock with all her might.

Now, I must clear something up... Fawn isn't as strong as Balto, or Kiba. She's meek and timid; not the kind of pup you'd want to do hunting. So swimming against a current that an adult wolf would have trouble with isn't easy.

Meanwhile, while Fawn was fighting nature, Balto was pacing not far away.

Balto! There has to be something we can do! Kiba yelled.

I'm thinking! Balto screamed back, his voice breaking with worry.

Finally, Balto stopped mid-pace and his eyes got wide. I've got it! He says, rushing over to Fawn. I will jump in and save you!

No! Kiba screamed, but it was too late, Balto closed his eyes and jumped into the chilly waters.

Balto wasn't far from Fawn, so if the water were calm, it would only have taken a few paddles. Sadly, the water was swift and seemed to carry Balto further from Fawn.

Fiba was slipping, falling off the rock she had been clinging too.

The fear in her deep blue eyes broke Balto's heart.

Her entire body was shivering, the white fur clung to her skin and was matted down.

Balto kept paddling, Kiba on the endge of ground. Kiba had become far more worrysome, fearful he may lose his two best friends in the world.

For the first time, Balto slipped underwater. He popped back up not 20 seconds later, struggling for air.

Balto eventually reached Fawn, who wryly smiled at him. The two shared a stare until Balto began to carry Fawn to shore.

Kiba noticed this and was cheering for him.

Hurry, Balto!... Yes, that's it! Paddle, swim! You can make it! He screamed against the water.

Balto was nearly to shore, until hi's back right paw slipped. He was tumbling towards the edge of the waterfall, nearing where the cliff drops, and they will fall if they do not hurry back to the shore.

Fawn was also sliding off Balto's back, which didn't help. Kiba was panicking, and Balto was panting, trying desperately to save both him and Fawn.

Soon, the two pups that were in the water saw the edge. They began to think this was it for them; they were both going to die by waterfall.

Kiba was shouting, and beginning to cry, not wanting his friends to die.

Fawn, we're going down! Hang on...! He yelled, and before anything happened, everything went in slow motion. A large brown wolf, with darker brown eyes, ran toward the water. He snagged up Balto out of the water with a large snarl.

Fawn, on the other paw, tumbled over the endge of the cliff, out of sight.

Balto was placed firmly on shore, who collapsed next to Kiba.

Nooo!! Fawn shrieked. Kiba could only watch in horror as his best friend was plummenting towards the ground at speeds that had a chance of killing her.

Balto had his eyes closed, and only witnessed the verbal parts, but knew that he could not save Fawn, and simply lay limp on the ground.

The huge male wolf watched with wide eyes, seeing a female pup just fall to her doom.

Finally, he sighs, and grunts.

Get up. We have to go... see the body, He explains in a deep voice. Kiba recognized it. The pack leader. The pack leader just saved Balto, and tried to save Fawn.

Reality struck Kiba. He slowly moved down the hill. Fawn is most likely dead.
