Jade and Tori have found themselves in 6th period, their usual lunch period, in the Blackbox Theater arguing with passion. Minutes of insults, comebacks, yelling, and red faces have passed. Sikowitz walks in, immediately intimidated by Jade but knowing he has to do his job. "Girls, girls, girls! Stop the arguing what's wrong?!" He cuts through the bickering, taking a sip of coconut. "I am not being partners with her for the musical! She's insufferable and everyone else has a boy partner!" Jade spat as the tan girl being insulted shot her a dirty glare. "Now, Jade, you know that Andy got injured and David had to stop coming for his grades, so it only fits. Who gives a donkey's thigh anyways? Two girls two guys two..things..whatever!" The girls looked at each other almost instantly, but with gentle expressions now. Following the silence, Jade sighed. "Fine. I'll be her partner." Tori smiled."Thaaank you." she said in a sarcastic tone. "Don't push it Vega."

One week goes by of choreography and singing practice, props and costumes being set up along the way. Sikowitz pulls Jade and Tori out of yet another argument into the hallway to avoid distracting the practicing cast up on stage. "Girls, if you're going to be partners especially with your roles and such, you need to feel genuine love towards each other. Right now, you see Tori and Jade on stage not Venus and Nicci! I want Venus and Nicci!" He admonished the two who were enduring his lecture. "We get it, we know you changed the script to make this work and we know—"

"That the show is in 2 weeks?"

"Yes, and—"

"That half of our cast is still struggling with the choreography?"

"I get it Jade!" Tori interrupted, trying to stop the argument before it started. "But what I'm saying is that it's really hard, even as actresses, to put our school relationship aside. We're really trying, Sikowitz." she apologetically said, Jade rolling her eyes. "Fine. How about this?" They two girls looked at eachother knowing that statement was never good. "We do a little acting exercise. You two remember when you guys were Walter and Nancy for that play a few months back and went on that date? Do that again but 20 times more passionate! Romantic! Love!" The two rolled their eyes, a feeling of nervous energy radiating through the air. "So figure it out because this musical needs you two and 50% of your grade depends on it." He said, taking another swig. "50%?!" Tori exclaimed, even more nervous than before. "Look this is crazy—"

"No buts!"

"Sikowitz you didn't even—" Jade chimed in

"Zip!"

The two sighed and groaned in defeat, and walked into the theater with Sikowitz. Practice ended in 3 hours, and after that Tori and Jade would have to figure out a game plan. 2 weeks to make this work.

Tori stretched as she got out of bed, reading the time on her phone. "1:37 AM". With a yawn, she walked down the stairs turning on and dimming the lights to see whoever was ringing the doorbell. "It's almost 2 in the morning this better be important!" she called out waiting for the mystery person to identify themself. She fixed her braids as Jade's voice replied with "Don't worry I might not stab you." and Tori opened the door knowingly.

"Jade it's so late why are you here?"

"Late? Wow, for you." the pale girl spat with a chuckle.

She sighed "What do you want?"

"Sikowitz said we had to do what we did for that play but 20x harder, right?"
