The Closet

"Very good kiddies! Now if your grandmother was stranded on a island would she get bitten by a snake first or get poisoned from a potato first?" Sikowitz, the slightly psychotic yet oddly talented teacher asked. "Um..does this still have to do with acting?" Beck spoke up, the students reacting with nods and "yeah"s. Sikowits huffed "Just answer the question!" Jade then spoke, wickedly saying "Potatoes. No snake that's not an absolute idiot would eat an old woman, her meat would be stale." Tori looked over at the pale girl confused. It was Wednesday and this was the first thing she had said all week to anyone. Tori figured it was because the question was related to death, but she was still annoyed that this is what her girlfriend responds to and not Tori. She slyly pulled out her phone and texted Jade, who was on her phone anyways and did not care if she got scolded for not paying attention.

"Ur gonna have to talk eventually! What's wrong? :("

"Come with me to the closet"

"R u OK?"

"Closet"

"OK...?"

Tori looked over at Jade as she walked out of the classroom. "Bon voyage!" Sikowitz waved at her and smiled. "I'll get her" Tori sighed then exited the class. She looked around the hallway then entered the closet quietly, shutting and locking the door. Turning around she looked over to the floor to see her girlfriend cutting up another garbage can, something she hasn't done in awhile. Even though the room was so dim, Tori could make out atleast one other wrongfully dismantled garbage can. "Hey.." the Tan girl spoke up after hearing a sniffle come from her raven haired partner on the floor, not making eyecontact. She reached her hand out and sat down to gently caress that raven hair, planting a light kiss on the top of her head. The pale girl lazily lifted her head, showing the vulnerable tears running down her cheeks. Tori wiped a tear and gave her a tiny smile, leaning in to wipe more tears. "I knew you got new mascara, this one is waterproof.." she chuckled. Jade broke and couldn't help but give a hint of a smile. She lightly kissed her then sniffled again, putting her scissors into her bag. "I hate you." she muttered."I love you too." Tori replied with a slightly wider smile then giving her a 'tori-squeeze'. Jade sarcastically groaned and hugged her back, asking for a tissue. Tori pulled a small travel pouch of tissues out of her bag and gave them to Jade, who blew her nose and wiped the remaining tears. "Do you wanna talk about it..?" Tori asked lightly, treading on eggshells by trying to help Jade yet not make her start to cry again. "It's stupid..just my dad being a dick again.." Jade looked away solemly.

"He didn't hurt you did he?" Tori blurted out, turning her treading into heavier steps. "No..atleast not physically." she started, then continued for almost the whole double-period they had together in Sikowitz's class. When she finished, she found not only herself but Tori crying too, although Tori's tears were alot more like a sob. They just hugged each other tightly, holding the other one in their arms, savoring the moment of vulnerability and care. Once they both calmed their emotions, and hesitantly let go of each other, they smiled. "You're not g—"

"No, Jade, of course I'm not gonna tell anyone cool or anyone at all about you being vulnerable or your situation." Tori responded almost out of muscle memory.

"Well thanks but I was going to ask if you're not going on vacation with your family this week..right?"

Tori flushed."I'm sorry I-I just—"

"I know..I'm sorry I was so rude to you before..and I know you know that but I was just trying to hide my feelings because I thought you were straight..and I couldn't stand being so confused with Beck and you and..." She sighed.

"Don't be sorry..I love you Jade. I couldn't ever stop loving you even if I wanted to. And yes I'm home alone, what are you implying?"

"Movies and popcorn."

"I love you."

"But only my movies so I can freak you out the whole night." Jade added with a wink.

Tori sighed and hugged her girlfriend again, melting into the hug. Eventually she found herself sitting in Jade's lap swaying the both of them back and forth while Jade stroked her hair. The only thing that woke them from their trance was the bell that rang meaning the period was over, and they had to get moving. Hesitating, the girls broke their embrace then stood up and gathered their things.

"I love you."

"I hate you too Vega."
