☆彡Over the past month, a certain shorter Vega had been subtly doing generous and kind things for Jade. Jade, of course, couldn't stomach it since being nice is for weak people and the elderly. She's not weak, nor elderly. Despite this it bothered her that she didn't know the reason behind it, this girl being so sweet to a bitter frenemy. Opposites attract so they say.
When the pale girl had finally started noticing these sweet little acts was on a chilly, as chilly L.A can get, January morning. She had stayed up the previous night working on a short film because "When creativity strikes you beat it 'til it's dead". Her words verbatim, which also happen to be one of her life mottos. In other words she hadn't slept and was very grumpy. Tori sacrificed her coffee to give to Jade, in which Jade responded "I'm not a charity case!" Tori took the hint and walked off to see André. Turning her back, Jade took a swig. It was still hot, and although being a little too sweet for her liking it wasn't half bad. She almost smiled at the fact that Tori had given the coffee to her, especially after learning that Tori also hadn't slept the other night since she was working on a science project. Almost.
Ever since then she had noticed all the little things that Tori would do, pretending that she didn't know or teasing her for it. Even through her relentless teasing and harassment, Tori still continued. That baffled Jade even more.
It was now the beginning of February which meant it was time to capitalize on chemical reactions in the brain for cash. Jade West despised Valentine's day, the only thing keeping her from it being her least favorite holiday is that Cat thought the whole day was invented for her family, and it was amusing to watch sometimes. The whole month of February the school would use fundraisers, bake sales, car washes, concerts, events, and even kissing booths, the worst of them all, to collect the money they needed for things like the musical and other funding needs. She never participated in any of these until today. February 1st. Her teacher threatened her with a bad grade unless she did this since she hadn't participated in any other events this year. Despite her threats and arguments, she eventually agreed after some bribery. The only good thing about kissing booths is that you can scam the gross kids out by kissing their cheek or their hand. And no one judges, since it is for fundraising and such. Whether you're a boy or a girl didn't matter since you didn't know who you were going to kiss from the two people who worked the booth for time saving purposes. Jade formed a plan to get around any kiss however. Step 1: take the money. Step 2: stare into their eyes with hate. Step 3: watch them run away, or if they stay...Step 4: kiss their hand. No one was good enough for her lips on their lips.
A perky Tori Vega came up and handed her money to the booth, until noticing a slender hand take it. She looked up and her face immediately dropped, as well as the girl on the other side. "Jade? I thought you hated these things!" she said in honest shock. "Well I was bribed. 10% of the cash and an A in the class was juuust enough." As she talked she could feel the ends of her mouth twitch upwards ever so slightly and had to keep herself in check. She wasn't even sure why she hadn't snapped Tori's neck off by now. "So are we gonna do this or are you gonna stand there like a pitiful sack?" Not her best insult, but she had to think of something on the fly to not look suspicious or even...nice...that disgusting word. "Okay" Tori said and applied some chapstick.
Woah.
That was unexpected. Jade had expected Tori to run off or complain, but she had just complied willingly to kiss the pale girl infront of her. "O-Okay." Jade responded, hesitating slightly. The shorter girl leaned down to meet Jade's face who was sitting behind the booth, and pushed a long loose strand of her chestnut hair back behind her ear. Jade found herself leaning towards her as well, lightly placing her hand on Tori's cheek. She didn't fight or struggle, she just slowly leaned into it, and surely enough their lips connected sending electricity down Jade's spine. She felt herself lose track of time and space just for a moment, until she felt her tongue graze Tori's lower lip. This was an accident of course, however the tan girl's lips parted for her to enter. Jade realized how this looked from an outside stand point and reluctantly pulled away. Tori smiled to herself before locking eyes with Jade.
"You're blushing."
There were two things in this world the Jade West didn't do. She did not sweat. And she did not blush.
She quickly felt her cheeks and surely enough, a slight warmth came off from them. This probably made her cheeks glow even more after realizing. Tori smiled and a light red tinge appeared on her face as well.
"You're holding up the line. NEXT." She said, swatting Tori away. The boy next to her took the next client, as they alternated turns. The line was much longer than she had expected, and got to leave finally to head home after what seemed like eons. The image of Tori infront of her, their faces inches away, the way she parted her lips for Jade, and how soft she was to kiss and touch was plaguing her mind. To her surprise Tori was still at school sitting on one of the lunch table seats, tapping at her phone intently. Jade let the view soak in for a moment, finding that from some angles one could say that she looked cute. "Vega" she said starting to walk towards her. She looked up from her tapping and waved to the slender girl with a small confused smile. "Come around here often?" Tori asked jokingly. Jade fake gagged which made Tori giggle. 'That was so adorable'. Jade chased that thought out of her head as quick as she could. "You know, I don't blush." Tori nodded. "Yep and you don't sweat either right?" she said, reminiscing the time they were all trapped in a hellfire of a van. "Hey we do not talk about that!" Jade said shoving her arm lightly. Too lightly. Tori suspected something was wrong. "Are you feeling okay?" she asked quickly. Jade found herself defending herself with such a guilty conscious. "What yeah I'm fine of course I'm fine why wouldn't I be fine?" Tori giggled again. "Okay okay, just asking." Jade felt that same warmth come to her cheeks again. 'I do NOT blush.' Tori smiled and raised an eyebrow as she saw Jade's pale cheeks slowly become pink.
'I do NOT blush.'
"Are you SURE you're okay Jade?" Tori was almost concerned, and Jade noticed and honestly appreciated it, something she never does. Her cheeks felt even warmer now.
"I do NOT blush!" she spat out quickly.
"Then what are you doing right now?" Tori replied. Jade rolled her eyes, and an idea popped into her head. On a whim, she moved forward and cupped Tori's cheek. Her eyes flooded with confusion as Jade felt warmth starting to come from the cheek she held. Their lips immediately locked together, the electricity from earlier sparking up again. Their kiss lasted for who knows how long, some tongue action involved, until Tori pulled back to breathe. "See. You're blushing now." Jade stood back with a smirk. Tori rolled her eyes and complained "Not fair!" Jade heard as she was walking towards her car to leave. She smirked as she drove off, leaving the younger Vega in confusion. 'Maybe Valentine's day won't be so bad after all'
