“Oh Newt, I’m so sorry you had to go through that again with Credence” she said to him, taking his
hand as a form of comfort.
They only did this once, but they were too busy rushing through MACUSA’s underground halls trying
to escape to even notice.
He slowly linked their fingers together, his rough (from his work) yet gentle touch sending a spark
through her. She kept that to herself, of course. They looked down at their interlocked fingers and
smiled.
“Thank you, Tina. For helping me through everything.”
“Your Welcome, Newt. Thank you too, for everything.”
“Your Welcome.” They both chuckled.
They spent another hour like that, finishing their drinks, before returning to their respective beds.
“Goodnight, Tina” he said to her before returning to his case.
“Goodnight, Newt” she replied. Before she turned to her room, he took her hand and gave it a slight
squeeze.
Tina doesn’t know if she will ever be able to keep him out of her mind again. She will miss him a lot,
she knows that. She wonders if he will miss her too.
‘Out of sight, out of mind, right?’
‘Wrong’ she had this constant argument going through her mind since she woke up.
Tina had already finished her drink and floated the cup into the sink. She checked the time on the
clock. 4am it told her. ‘I should really get some sleep’ she thought.
She got back into her bed. Sliding under the blue covers, remembering this is the bed Newt stayed
in, whilst she slept on the cough for the past few days. Queenie transfigured a bed into the space
they had left in their living room to sleep in.
Tina was drifting back off to sleep, dreaming of another world, inside a suitcase, filled with magical
creatures of all kinds and a certain British wizard, holding her hand.
So hard to let go.....
Tina woke up at 7am. Newt’s boat was to leave in an hour.
“Mercy Lewis” she mumbled as she quickly got out of bed and went into the living room, to find
Newt and Queenie having breakfast and laughing at a story Newt told her about the niffler pinching
some passenger’s possessions during his travels.
Tina cleared her throat and they both looked up at her.
“Good Morning” they said in unison.
