(This is after few weeks after the beach party but almost a week before Justin dumped Chloe)

Emily's POV

After my last class, I made my way towards the playground and almost yelped at what I saw next. The tyre of my car was slashed and there was "HIPPO" written on it's front in huge letters.

My eyes moistured as I ran towards the car and ran my fingers along the red paint, that was prominent against the white color.

Who would do that to my baby?

I got my answer soon when I heard giggling behind me. Turning around, I watched Chloe and her two friends grinning at me, their wicked smile clearly indicating who was behind all this.

"Chloe!" I half-yelled. "You knew how much I love this car. Dad gifted this on my sixteenth."

"I know sweetheart. That's why I labeled it. Everyone should know who is the owner of this car." she said and few students around us laughed.

I hate her.

She is my sister.

But I hate her.

Today, she crossed all limits.

Actually, she crossed all limits a long time ago.

Balling my fists at my side, I spat, "You are just jealous that Dad gifted this car to me while mom was so busy in her work that she forgot your sixteenth birthday. The whole school remember the tantrum you three back then."

I knew I was being mean but I couldn't help it. I love my Dad and his gifts are very dear to me. She has no right to destroy it like that.

After my little speech, I exhaled loudly and watched her for any response. But when she stomped towards me, with the killer look in her eyes, I trembled in my position.

"You bitch." she said and pushed me. Losing my balance, I stumbled backwards and if it wasn't for the person standing behind me, I would have fallen down.

"Are you alright?" It was a familiar voice who asked.

Damien.

Standing on my feet, I nodded my head up and down but he still didn't loosen his hold on me.

"Are you crazy?" he asked Chloe who just glowered at him.

"Leave it Damien." I intervened and pulled him back.

His gaze shifted between Chloe and me and after muttering something under his breath, he pulled me away from them towards his car.

"Come on. I'll drop you." he said and opened his car door for me.

I settled inside and wiped my cheeks with my sleeves, using my hair to hide my face from him.

"Is she really your sister or was she switched at birth with Regina George's daughter?" he said once he was inside the car and despite my sour mood, a smile made its way to my lips.

"She wasn't always that bad. It's just... After Mom and Dad's divorce, she just got really manipulative and aggressive. It was her defense mechanism to cope with our family issues." I told him.

He nodded, started the car and turned it towards my house. I lived near the school so he didn't have to drive really far. Soon we were in front of my house.

"Wanna come in?" I asked, not wanting to stay alone in the house.

Silence haunts me but unfortunately, I am stuck with it. That's the reason I babysit few kids of my area. The cute little munchkins save me from spending my time alone until Dad returns from his work.

"Sure." he smiled, brushing his hair away from his forehead.

He was handsome, in a very traditional way. Like clean shaved face, thick eyebrows, thin lips, broad shoulders, tall built, hair gelled back. But Justin, he was gorgeous, with his really exotic features and sexy, seductive eyes.

If only his personality wasn't a total shit.

Why am I thinking about him when I'm with this really great guy?

Inviting him inside, I led him to the TV lounge and watched as he made himself comfortable on the sofa. I settled down beside him and turned the TV on, searching through the channels and finally stopping on a movie channel.

"Would you like to eat something?" I asked, halfway through the movie.

"Sure." he shrugged.

Passing him a smile, I went into the kitchen and pulled out some left-over lasagna from the fridge. When it got reheated, I instantly prepared two cups of steaming coffee for us.

"Is this a date?" he asked when he found me with a tray full of food and coffee. I blushed, feeling that he might be thinking I was a freak.

"Hey... Don't look at me like that. I'd love the idea of having a date with you." he winked and I almost choked on the air.

Is he flirting with me?

Yes, he is.

Oh my God! What should I say now?

I stopped my chain of thoughts and set down on the couch, with the tray on table in front of us.

He served some lasagna on his plate and took first bite, closing his eyes and letting out a small moan. "It's heavenly!" he said. "Did you cook it?"

I nodded and his eyes widened with appreciation. It was new for me, hearing appreciation because throughout my highschool, Justin and Chloe left now stone unturned to humiliate me.

Justin!

Why can't he be sweet like Damien?

Why can't he sit beside me and talk to me like a normal person?

Why does he have to be so rude and weird?

Damien must have noticed my anxious expressions. That's why he scooted closer to me and lightly brushed my cheeks with his index finger. My breath hitched in my throat as I watched him with my widened eyes.

"You know what! You are so pretty. Almost as if I'm dreaming this." he said, his voice low, barely above a whisper.

"Dreaming this!" he said and leaned towards me, his eyes not leaving mine.

My brain cells activated and I contemplated whether to duck back. I was still thinking when his lips slightly brushed against mine, making me hyperaware of our proximity. I swallowed hard when he pulled back, a huge smile on his face while my jaw hanging low.

"I'm sorry if I-"

"It's...it's okay." I smiled despite my inner turmoil.

A certain face made an appearance in front of my eyes and I couldn't help but feel guilty, even though I had every right to kiss any other boy.
