Chapter Six - A Winter's Ball

It was about 8:00 pm on the dot when Alex arrived at the Winter's Ball hosted by the Schuyler Sisters. Alex was quick to be recognized by Mulligan and Lafayette who came over to greet him.

"Alexander!" Lafayette high-fived Alex.

"Ay yo wassup, Hamilton?" Hercules tried to do a handshake with Alex but he was from the Leeward Islands so he had no freaking idea what was happening. Hercules tried to show him but eventually gave up due to distraction.

"Everyone, please welcome, the Schuyler Sisters!" a scrawny man said. Suddenly, three ladies beautiful of face walked into the ballroom. "Here's Angelica, Eliza, and Margarita "Peggy" Schuyler!" The three women were arranged in a triangle formation. The woman on the right was tan skinned and had her big-looking hair tied back in a ponytail. All of the girls had A-cut dresses on but they were all different colors. The woman on the right had a sunlight yellow dress on. Alex moved his eyes to the woman on the right. She was fair skinned with straight and long brown hair and emotional eyes. She was wearing a baby blue dress. Finally, the girl in the middle was the last one Alex looked at. She was exceptionally stunning and the most beautiful out of the three. She was wearing a soft pink dress. There were sounds of snickers and catcalls from the other men at the ball. The ladies had looks of envy on their faces though not quite as beautiful as the leading lady of the night. People everywhere were drooling over the sisters. The girl in the pink dress met eyes with Alex but quickly looked away after a few milliseconds. Alex would soon learn that they would meet eyes the entire night but neither of them would buck up enough courage to greet the other.

Alex was talking to Lafayette and Hercules when he felt a light tap on his shoulder. He turned around and in his face was the beautiful lady in the pink dress. Up close she seemed to get even more beautiful. "I've never seen your pretty face around before," she said in an angel like voice.

He bowed in front of her and when he faced her again, her cheeks were red with embarrassment. She'd looked like she'd seen a ghost and maybe forgotten her own name. She swallowed hard, obviously less confident than she was beforehand. She was speechless. Lafayette and Mulligan slowly backed away and went to talk to some more strangers to give them a moment alone. "You strike me as a woman who has never been satisfied," Alex laughed.

"I'm sure I don't know what you mean," the woman said, shaking her head. "You forget yourself."

"You're like me," Alex had caught her attention again. "I'm never satisfied."

"Is that right?"

"I've never been satisfied."

The beautiful woman took a deep breath. "My name is Angelica Schuyler."

"Alexander Hamilton."

"Where's your family from?"

Alex suddenly looked uncomfortable, like he didn't belong. "Unimportant. There's a million things I haven't done. But just you wait."

"I guess I will then, Alexander."
