"Oh god, everything is gone," James said, breath taken. James and Alex trudged into their mother and father's room.

"Hey boys, could you find your father for me? I need to know where his stuff is for our road trip," Mrs. Hamilton said, while packing her stuff.

"Mama?" James asked, quietly.

"Yes, hon," she said impatiently.

"Dad's gone," James pursed his lips.

"Not to worry, he's probably just gone to the market," Mrs. Hamilton said, still packing.

"All of our things are gone too," Alex said. Mrs. Hamilton looked up. Alex and James beckoned her to come out of their parents' bedroom. Mrs. Hamilton slowly glided toward the door in her long gown. When she stepped out, she gasped. The room was completely empty. Rachel glided into the kitchen and opened all of the cupboards and the food was gone. James and Alex followed their mother out to the storage barn, the silo, and the stables. Stuff, food, horses. Gone.

"Father's taken the wagon as well," Alex said. Mrs. Hamilton dropped down onto her knees.

They had lost everything.
