Chara arrived to his dorm room. He hurriedly entered as if he was being chased, and slammed the door shut. He looked at his surroundings. It was hard to believe that this used to be a dreary concrete cell, but was now a normal and appealing bedroom.
He went over to the wooden desk in the center of the room, and opened the drawer. There, he saw a small white box.
Chara grabbed the box and opened it cautiously. Inside, there was a yellow flower.
It was a buttercup, much like the ones from when he was living with Asriel and his family, so very long ago.
Chara picked it up, being ever so gentle. It was like he was holding a foreign artifact.
Looking at it put some strange feeling in his heart. What was it? This... is this loss?
It's like I'm forgetting something important...
He placed the buttercup to the side and saw that there was an envelope in the box. He picked it up and tore the seal off. He then took the card out and read what it had said;
Dear Chara Dreemurr,
As one of the lucky few, I have given you a gift. A buttercup from your life living with your monster family...
Can you remember why it's important to you? What feelings that this flower triggers in your heart?
If you can't, that's great.

It was in the same handwriting that Tord's letter was in.
"'That's great'?" Chara wondered aloud, "What is that supposed to mean?"
He put the card back into the envelope and set it down. Dissatisfied and confused, he left his room to find Tord.
As he entered the dim hallway, he took out his MonoPad and looked to see where Tord was.
Unfortunately, he was still with Kuroha in the physics lab.
"What could they be discussing?" Chara mumbled as he put his pad away.
He wished to continue learning about Tord, but if he wasn't available, he'd just have to be bored.
"I don't want to go talk to Bill again. I can only handle people like him once a day..." He sighed.
To distract himself, the boy walked around the hallways of the building, staring at his MonoPad and contemplating on who he should talk with.
"Tord and Kuroha are busy... Mukuro and Junko probably don't want to see me until tonight... and I'm done with Bill for today..." He mumbled as he was in thought.
He bumped into someone as he was distracted.
His MonoPad fumbled in his hands and he caught it before it fell to the floor. He looked up the other person to see if they were alright.
He met eyes with them;
"Irina?" Chara asked. She seemed to have been paying attention only to her notebook and nervously shut it.
"It looks like we both weren't paying attention." She admits. "I guess that's a sign that we both better be more careful, don't you agree?" The pinkette gave off a polite tone, unlike how she was this morning.
Chara nodded and apologized. "Yeah, I'm sorry."
I really have a bad habit of bumping into people... He thought to himself.
Irina bowed, "I'll be on my way now, then. Goodbye, Chara." She turned to make her leave.
Chara suddenly had an idea. "Ah, Irina, do you have any free time right now?"
The mage stopped in her tracks. She turned her head to him, "I, uh... Suppose I do. Do you need anything from me?"
