Safe in Her Arms. ~C.H~

Chapter 8

* Calum's P.O.V. *
     We listened to that playlist all the way there. I might have a taken a few wrong turns, but we managed to get there in one piece so that's good. I think that playlist will be ours forever. It's the first playlist we've listened to together. I'm still in shock that she didn't hate her gift. I was nervous she was going to hate it. " Cal, are you ready to go in. You've been staring into space for the last minute. Are you okay? " "Yeah sorry, just thinking. Let's go." I get out of the car and notice Rachel is trying to find a place to put things. I walked to her side and opened her door. "Here I'll find a place for them don't worry!" I went to my trunk grabbed the vase I bought and some cooler water for the roses. I poured the water in and brought the vase to Rachel. "Here put them in this and then sit them on the ground next to the sticks." "You really planned for this huh." " Yeah I did, I wanted everything to be perfect. Ok let's go they are waiting for us with a table, I also had them order those garlic knot things you were talking about. " "Did you really, I can't wait." We walk inside the building and find the guys. I see them at a large booth. Michael and Ashton are by each other and Ashton is waiting for us. I let Rachel sit by Ashton, knowing her she'll probably say something about the sticks. Once she sits I sit next to her. The waiter asks us for drinks when Ash interrupts, " Try the Pepsi stuff it's good! " "We'll have two Pepsi please." Rachel answers before I can. "I know you'll like it that's why I got' em!"

   * Rachel'a P.O.V. *
               After getting our drinks and eating our appetizer, we waited for our food and talked amongst ourselves. Call was talking to Luke about a new bass line and Michael was throwing things in every once in a while. Ashton was listening but wasn't interjecting. I tap his foot with mine and he looked up at me.
" Thank you. " " For what, " he winked " it wasn't me. Aaron told me you'd been saving up for them but never had the money cause of your dad. So I told Cal that you'd like them, but it wasn't that hard to see by how you play that you like him. He kinds rubs people in a different way, and it makes them play like him but in their own unique way. But yeah it was all Aaron. " I didn't realise Aaron payed that much attention. Like I knew I told hin about wanting them a few years ago but I didn't think he'd remember. " Oh, well thanks for telling Calum, I didn't realise my brother remembered. "  "No problem Rachel, I like your shirt by the way. "  " Oh thanks, it's a classic. "
    By this point we had all talked about everything we could think of. We talked about some of my past, and some of theirs. We talked about the tour, and even how their parents were taking it, but apparently they don't know! The only thing we hadn't talked about was their music. So of course I had to bring up the song Calum showed me.
    " So guys, Beside You Is amazing. I can't wait to hear more from you guys. " I think they were all shocked. I also think they didn't think it was very good either, which is nuts. Calum is such a good writer! " We have an EP out you know. ", Luke laughed. I looked at Calum immediately. " You've written music and didn't tell me about it! Music is literally my life. It's all I ever do! " " I guess I just didn't think about it, other than writing new songs and practicing the ones we already have and hanging with you i guess I forgot cause we only really released it back home. " Michael looks at Cal intensely, " You forgot about the music we wrote, recorded and released  eight months ago, wow, very professional! "
    Michael continues. "We planned on practicing later tonight, but Cal we can't use your Uncle's house cause of the baby can we?" "You can use my garage, I can have Aaron move the car since the sets' already in their, and Ash can use it." "That would be perfect cause I couldn't bring my set all the way here, I brought sticks though. " Me and Mike brought our guitars, do you have an amp?" Luke looked at me, before I could say anything Calum interrupted. " I have amps, well my uncle does, and he told me I could use them anytime! " " Okay that works, what time you want to practice? Do you want to tag along Rachel, you could hear some of the sings from our EP since someone failed to show you our awesomeness!! " " Will it make you happen if I watch Michael, or are you just wanting to show off your mad guitar skills?! " We all laughed. I thought it was a pretty good joke!
    Once we pay and walk out of the building the boys complain about dessert which is good since we are at the Riverwalk. " Guys follow me!" Everyone follows me to a place not to far away. We walk up to a place called Marble Slab. It is my favorite ice cream place by far. " What is this place? " Calum asked. "Well it's my favorite ice cream place. You pick your flavor and then put stuff inside your ice cream. I get the same thing every time I'm here! "
    "  Hi, welcome to Marble Slab what can I get you? " " Yeah can I get the large rainbow sprinkled cone with Blue cotton candy ice cream." " Sure, do you want anything mixed in your ice cream? " Yeah just more rainbow sprinkles! " They all looked at me puzzled. " Don't worry this is the only place I will eat an entire pig at! "
    After Calum payed for his and my ice cream, the others got theirs and we sat down outside. It was warmer that night.  Calum got chocolate ice cream and almonds. Luke got sweet cream with peanut butter cups, and peanuts, and Ash and Mikey both got what I got!  I watched Ash and Mikey take a few bites. " Eating the ice cream with pieces if the cone makes it better! " Ashton on Michael both try it like that by breaking of part of the cone bowl and scooping ice cream on it. " I usually don't eat fluorescent colored foods, " Ashton laughed, " but this is amazing! " " What do you think Mikey?" I asked. " I think I'm going to dye my hair this color. Oh and yeah the ice cream is amazing! "
   Once we all finished we headed back to our cars and went to the houses to get ready for the practice. The boys were gonna have to move everything into my garage. Once in the car, Calum put our playlist on and we listened to it all the way home.
