"So you admit defeat." Jeongin begins, looking down on him with a smug grin on his face. Hyunjin only groaned in response, shoving his face deeper and deeper into the pillow on his head. His brother had found out very quickly what happened the day before since Felix couldn't keep his mouth shut and blabbed on about it to him. He just wanted to forget the whole experience, it was taking a toll on him.
He could remember the exact look on Doyeon's face when he rejected her confession. It went from mild surprised with a hint of sadness speckled in it, for a good reason too. Hyunjin has practically led her on, making her believe he was in love with her when in actuality he was simply infatuated with her. He didn't realize it until the last minute and probably made her embarrassed.
Though she seemed to just wave it off, smiling at them as she had sat up in her chair. "That's fine. Honestly I could sorta tell that you're hooked on someone else. Don't worry this won't mess up the friendship." Then she left, making some comments words Changbin about homework they had to do and ruffling up Felix's hair. He thought he'd be free from the whole torture of liking two people at once but... he wasn't.
He walked through the whole day with a hole in his heart, like he had lost something precious to him. Was Doyeon really thinking that their friendship would still be intact? He felt like he returned it all, like now he has to apologize to her a million times over. Hyunjin... probably broke her heart and hurt her feelings with how harsh his words with.
"I feel like I'm drowning." Hyunjin responded, lifting up his head. Kkami came out of nowhere, jumping on top of his bed and licking his face to make him feel better. The boy smiled, sitting up so that he could brush down the fur of the canine that was sticking up. The mere presence of his pet brings joy to his confused heart.
"Let me get this straight." Jeongin commented, sitting next to Hyunjin as he began to recount the events that had happened. "So.... Felix said you had a crush on this Doyeon girl for awhile... and then when you got to junior year you found out the class president existed and now you've discovered it was just an infatuation with Doyeon and you didn't actually like her."
Hyunjin nodded meekly, slumping up against the pillows as he listened to his step brother speak. "When when Doyeon confessed that was when you realized you didn't truly like her? And you were leading her on?" The boy nodded again, not even putting up a fight anymore now that the secret had truly been revealed. Jeongin gave him a punch in the shoulder, quick but hard as he yelled. "You're such a playboy, Jesus! You didn't have to do her like that"
"I didn't try to!" Hyunjin snapped, growing angry with Jeongin's accusations. "I didn't even know she liked me back! How was I supposed to know I actually liked someone else?" He hissed, causing the dog to scurry away in fright. He's never used such a aggressive tone before when he was an only child, so Kkami wasn't used to this change in attitude. Jeongin, however, didn't look like he really cared.
